  • Measuring?

I'm brand new. HI! (waving) ... so I measured beforehand and my next measure day is coming up. Do you generally measure on that day before or after your workout? Or does it matter?

    Thanks!

I always measure in the morning when I'm getting ready for the day, which is before my workout. Sometimes they recommend taking 1-2 days off workout before you measure to give any inflammation a chance to settle down...especially if you've been doing a long boot camp. That gives you a clearer picture of your success.

    Welcome to T-Tapp!

      Awesome advice: Thx!!
Seeing as I'm leaning towards an Anti-Inflammatory & Adrenaline diet, your advice is perfect, as my body often has inflammation issues, which I hope to eliminate as time goes on.

If you have inflammation issues, have you considered and/or tried T-Tapp's alfalfa or Digest Plus? You might find these helpful!

I always measure the first thing in the morning before gravity or various thing that can happen to increase water retention. If I am going to measure, I am going to measure regardless of the workout days. What might help is if you keep your workout journal with your measurement (along with your period) and the type of food you ate... After a few months, you will see a pattern of cycle time, food, and workouts and how they all affect you.

In general, I suggest measuring weekly to check muscles activations inch loss. For periodic inch loss, measure 7 days after your period is finished, so that you are measuring with least water retention from hormone. If you did a boiotcamp, then definitely remeasure after 2 days and after 2 weeks.

It depends on the length of your bootcamp, it is not uncommon that we hold on to inflammation for 7-14 days if we do a 14 days Total bootcamp.

The fact is you know whether you are prone to water retention from inflammation, you don't get too upset on gain or the slow loss.
