  • I am still doing eating windows, 8 hours eating today, and I ate 8 cups of fruits and vegetables. No seaweeds, no bone broth, no organ meat, I did not go shopping, just whatever left in the fridge... I ate more than a cup of Kim Chee. However, I ate salmon today.

    I need to go shopping.

      • I managed about 5 cups of vegetables yesterday. Not bad for a day going around to a zoo and a friend's house. Good that my friend is a primary vegetarian, got 4 cups at her house at dinner.

This week the kids are still off from school, so a lot of park, zoo, aquarium, and museum this week. Getting access to multiple cups of vegetables is a challenge.

Thanks, I have seaweed daily, bone broth often but not any organ meat yet .
Stop taking stomach medication on Sunday, no problems!
I bought some Kimchi but I haven't tried it yet.

              • I have not abandoned this thread lol! I have been super duper busy! I am hoping to post more often going forward.

Switched over to Fuhrman's "G-BOMBS" so off most grains and sugar. Eating window 12-8pm. Not really doing "no S" because I don't want to have any sweets at all right now (but still not snacking.) Seconds, not a big deal when you're eating like this, so, if I want seconds, I have them. I am getting 4-6 cups of veggies a day in. Seaweeds a couple times a week. I need to ferment some veggies (maybe I'll have time on Monday).

Hi Mia, beans is not really on Paleo or Wahl's because of the phyto toxins that causes issue for certain people. Beans need to be soak for 12-24 hours (start the sprouting) to get rid of the phyto-toxins or lectins. So, please make sure if you have beans, soak them and make them yourself and do not rely on other people doing the same soaking precautions. Grains would be the same way, you need to soak for 4 - 12 hours if you are using grains (grains is also not a Paleo item therefore not a Wahl's item).

Yes, I know, ayj67. I only buy or grow my own dry beans (don't buy expensive canned). I own an organic farm. I am not eating grains at this time, but I am aware of the recommended soaking procedure for both beans and grains. Thank you!

              • Week 4. Added Kimchi to diet, I bought the hot one by mistake, really hot ! Eating at least 6 cups a day , seaweed and bone broth often. Still no sugar , dairy or gluten. Feel pretty good except for fatigue last week. I also increased vitamin D from 1000 to 2000 .

                  Gilbert, are you using D3?

              • Ayj I am using D 3 & also drinking fortified unsweetened almond milk . Also doing 12 hour fasting occasionally.
Yesterday finally reached 9cups with Kimchi & 12 hour fast! Nice feeling!
Wed another 9 cups , barely! Really full !
Thinking of trying a green smoothie fast , maybe Saturday.
Instead of a fast had mainly bone broth Saturday.
Really good month , only grains were a. couple of servings of popcorn.

              • How are we all doing for January?

We are approaching Feb... my birthday month and the Chinese New Year month... It is going to be really tough to eat really really well... I think I still need to get organ meat. Organ meat seems to be the most difficult to manage. I eat seaweed for snack and add Kombu in soup...

What is your worse compliance hurdle?

                • Doing well,so far so good. No organ meat yet. No sugar, no gluten and no dairy. Add seaweed, Kimchi and some bone broth. Reach 9 cups & 12 hour fasts . Have to work on the organ meat & figure out if I can get 9 cups consistently.
The bone broth is very filling so can’t eat enough cups of vegetables.
I also gave up coffee & drink green tea.

                    Giving up coffee is good.

Organ meat is the most trick part of the protocol.

One way I've found to get veggies in, is to warm up broth, but not to boiling. Than I add 3 cups of greens, usually spinach and blend that up. Add seaweed to that, salt and pepper if needed, and I don't get as full as if I was drinking broth and eating 3 cups greens separately. If you drink kombucha, I have a cup of that as well. I really like drinking the 2 alternately together. This would be my afternoon snack.

Thanks! I am having another green smoothie today.

                • I am still doing well too. Very few cheats, but I do keep forgetting to write down food. I haven't started organ meats yet, Veggies are the easiest part, but I have been weighing meat and if I don't weigh it, I find I don't get enough. I still have lots of fermented veggies, but sauerkraut is my favorite.

I am so sorry, but now you know that you definitely need to cut out gluten. The no grains mandate is not kidding especially, the gluten from the mill contamination.

If you really have to add in grains, add rice. If you really want some starch, add some purple potato or sweet potato sparingly.

For the moderate Paleo for high athletes, they do use rice and potato (if no allergies to either).
                Working...
