I understand... Social situations and well intentioned friends... Nowadays... I would sometimes say that I am fasting, don't worry. Most of my friends know that I cleanse and fast routinely, they don't feel offended. I will tell them what I don't eat in advance or I will pot luck and bring along my food to share. Take more enzymes, it will break down the gluten faster. Eat more seaweed the iodine will repair the damage of gluten... That might last for 6 months.

  • Good advice, thanks ! I resisted the offers of bread & sweets barely. I am eating Kimchi & seaweed daily. I also increased my D 3 to 3000 . I hope to try a 24 hour fast soon ( am currently fasting 12 hours regularly)

Oh, chicken hearts, how do you like it? How did you cook it... Maybe I should ask where you procured it?

My mother butchered the live chickens when I was young, and all gizzards were save (including blood). I enjoyed the heart. I loved the chicken kidney the most.

    • I bought them at a Chinese grocery store. Cooked with garlic & ginger, they are pretty good. When I was a kid , we often had organ meat... tongue, brain & liver . I have tried gizzards, I didn’t like them but we like chicken livers .

Gilbert, the garlic and ginger sound delicious. Let me help you up your culinary game... add green onion or scallion in the ginger. There are a few ingredients in Cantonese food. Ginger is paired with green onion. Garlic is another by itself. Soy sauce (a little sugar), rice wine and garlic is the third. Soy sauce, a little sugar, a little rice wine, green onion and ginger and garlic would be the supreme sauce.

LOL. In that case, just don't do the chocolate, there are other yummy food. Filet Mignon with mushroom, onion, asparagus, all kind of vibrant color fruits and vegetables. Who needs chocolate when you can eat clarified butter with lobster. Poach eggs on top of any entree.

Bacon wrapped anything is a good meal, LOL.

Why does chocolate give you a headache? I do want to know. Maybe it is the brand that you are choosing.

I eat Theo Organic chocolate (Seattle company). There is no iffy ingredient in there. No soy lecithin or any funny thing that tastes like soap and gummy residues. I bought 12 bars on my birthday last week, LOL. I believe Whole Food puts it on sales for my birthday.

Happy belated birthday !Your foods sound wonderful! Chocolate is a tradition.
I get my darling any kind she desires, always! Actually the gluten I had a couple of weeks ago gave me a headache so I expect similar with sugar & dairy . I will check the Theo chocolate.
Do you think it would be alright to have a slice of birthday cake or ice cream cake ?

    • Gilbert, definitely ok for a treat if it is a once a year or twice a year thing. As long as it is occasional and not a whole cake. Just make sure you get the type that is not going to be offensive to your health. By all means, get the most decadent and expensive one with the best quality ingredients. If you are going to splurge, get the best quality one and get something that is not going to be hurtful to your body.

There are plenty of gluten free dairy free bakery around nowadays if you look around. Might even be able to get one ordered and made specifically for you. It is not going to be cheap, but with advanced planning, you will find one.

4 years ago, I got a girlfriend a baby shower cake that is gluten free, soy, and diary free (at first she wanted me to make one, and after thinking long and hard, I rather have a professional make it to avoid failure). She said it was delicious and the best she had tasted. I got the rest of the guest regular cake. Yup, like the topper cake for her that is what she can eat. The rest of the guest with similar cake but traditional gluten and dairy. She has endometriosis, she had to be completely gluten free, dairy free, soy free to be healthy enough to carry a baby (even the baby was IVF).

Alternatively, you need to learn how to make things from scratch and with the ingredients that is okay with you, but that is just going to be a lot of tasting, and trial and errors, at the end, having something make it is better to cut the sugar and treats out.

Excellent ideas , I didn’t know they had dairy & gluten free cakes! Definitely going to try one , sometime. I am actually enjoying the protocol .

    • Gilbert, you know what, Northmom has been making and tweaking recipes for gluten free and dairy free treats and birthday specialites. If you can figure all that your are allergic and sensitive to, she probably can tell you what you can make so that you can for you and your sweetie.

I make a decadent chia chocolate pudding. It does have sugar in it, but the primary ingredient was real good chocolate with sugar (European drinking chocolate from Trader Joes), coconut milk (from a can, that is organic and full fat and no filler ingredient that is not coconut or water), chia seed. Put them in a jar and stir then shake, then in the fridge it goes for overnight. Voila, good and decadent chocolate pudding.

Figure out if you are allergic to dairy, as full fat cream and butter is key ingredients for chocolate ganache and chocolate truffles that you can make. Get the best chocolate chip without iffy stuff (chocolate butter mostly), butter and full fat cream, melt and stir. Cool and roll. I add orange oil, as I like orange chocolate. You can add peppermint or coffee or almond (extract or liquor or the nuts) to jazz up the chocolate truffle or ganache.

Happy Valentines Day everyone !!! Will do better, no special events for a month , lots of time to find dairy & gluten free cake with little sugar. ( or make gluten & dairy free rice pudding or chia pudding ). Only slight headache.

      • Things are going well for me, for the most part. My clothes are fitting better and I can even wear a couple of dresses that I couldn't fit into last fall. I'm getting 9 cups of veggies in a day which is great! I still haven't made any fermented veggies (I know I need to, I've just been busy). We started most of our plants this week. I can't wait to start eating fresh from my own garden again.

Yay for veggie gardens!!! We save Napa cabbage and Bokchoy bottoms to replant. Leaves grow back a bit, not as prolific like green onions though.

      • I have been having more Chinese vegetables again and I am so very happy, as the Chinese vegetables are good for all 3 categories, and it is not very troublesome to eat a big plate ever! I am still lacking behind at the organ meat arena...

I am contemplating doing a Master Cleanse, so I will be off for a few week doing cleanses, but I will resume Wahl's before the 60 Days Challenge. I don't want to be in any cleanse when I am doing the T-Tapp Challenge.

Master Cleanse is drinking cayenne laced lemonade (with maple syrup) for 10-40 days. Salt Water Flush each morning. If you drink the lemonade within a 10 or 12 hours window, you will still get into Ketosis for 3-4 hours a day. Drinking the lemonade once every 2 hours before any hunger pang is going to make it work very easy. Just need to make sure no pulps and don't chew any gum or anything. When it is just liquid and no chewing and no pulp going in, the body will stop the digestion function and the energy is saved to do the cellular repair and rebuild.

It is basically a colon cleanse, kidney cleanse, liver cleanse + Ketosis if you can deal with windows. I have read on a raw foodie blogs that mono fruit fast or fruit fast can kill the yeast in the body when regular raw cannot. Fruit fast will cause the fuel from carb being consumed so fast that the body will have a no fuel from food stage and if the fat intake is less than 10% from fruit fast, the yeast (or cancer) cell membrane made up of protein, fiber and fat will be used up during ketosis.

Long time ago, there was a long thread for Master Cleanse started by Jen6 or Joan on the Forum, I am not sure if we still can pull it up, it is loaded with information and experience of different people trying. Jen is a master trainer and Joan runs the Health and Wisdom (the mag oil and mag crystal company), they are both master herbalist and I think Joan is a now a Indian Tribal certified doctor she can hand our diagnosis and treatments.

I had adrenal fatigue and fibromyalgia 4 years ago, and Master Cleanse in 2015 helped me get rid of a lot of my issue. I was doing only 14 days and not the 40 days. Of course, I did liver flush after master cleanse and my health improvement went leaps and bounds.

I have now done a few other cleanse and my favor is pineapple cleanse. Eat a whole pineapple a day and you can cheat a little with vegetable and meat because the enzyme digests everything. It is not a total shut down of digestion, but it still cleans up a lot of stuff.

GreenGem, see below for cleanses, fasts, and mono food diet.

      • This is off topic, but it is uber important that I want to make sure we talk poop in a serious way for any healing protocols.

Pineapple Cleanse is my own made up version from gleaning parasite cleanse at the Cure Zone forum. The premises of pineapple having a lot of enzyme and it dissolves protein. Parasites (yeast, cancer, tumor, cysts, and worms) are made of protein (and fat and fiber) and they got irritated, killed or dissolved. The high fiber and high acid content in pineapple also made pineapple a good colon and kidney cleanse. A few months ago, I bought a pack of ph paper strip, the pineapple juice is tested at 3.0 and apple cider vinegar is 2.0... I ensure you that I can eat a whole pineapple but I will not be able to drink a whole bottle of apple cider vinegar a day.

Pineapple Cleanse is eating as much pineapple (fresh) as I can everyday for a week or so. Try to eat exclusively pineapple only so that I am also in a mono food fast (that is very healing also, as when the body only digest one type of food, it will preserve a lot of energy to do repair and rebuild). The 3 Day Cleanse by Dr. Christopher is a mono food fast or cleanse, you choose to eat spinach only for 3 days or apple for 3 days or carrot for 3 days.

If you have to eat something with the family at dinner time, stick with raw salad and meat or protein sparingly during the cleanse. So that you can spare the enzyme for the cleansing of old tissues, parasites and old toxins at the GI track.

Whenever you do a cleanse a Salt Water Flush is needed to get rid of stuff... If you worry about salt, then do the Smooth Move Tea as in the classic Master Cleanse. Alternatively, Dr Christopher's lower bowel formula, or Epsom Salt mixture as in Hulda Clark's classic liver flush... If none of these are interesting, then you will have to use massive amount of Natural Calm or Oxygen type of pills or magnesium pills to get the colon flushed out. There are people who like to use enema for toxins evacuations.... I just do not insert anything into my body.

One major reason that people have detox flu when switching diet is because of the colon is congested and blocked but the toxins are released, these toxins did not pass at bowel movement will recirculate and cause the flu like symptoms. So, if you want to do a cleanse, research the pooping inducers of your choice first and secure it.

So, even with dry fast or water fast, people who are sick have a lot of toxins, the detox flu during these dry fast or water fast are the toxins not moving out fast enough, and the bowel movement inducers are needed. Having detox flu is not a must to have a good cleanse or detox.

When people do Keto Fast, using poop inducer is not necessary most of the time, as the high fat content will induce the bile to be released. Bile with make bowel movement happen even with mildly congested people. However, there are always exceptions, there are people who do liver flush with 4 oz of oil and 6 oz of juice still cannot get to the pooping stage and have the worse detox symptoms. The people do not want to drink the epsom salt and did not clean their colon or eat light with salad or vegetables for a few days before cleansing are the type of people complain about detox flu and making these cleanses dangerous.

When we do a cleanse the prep work and the clean up work is more important than the actual flush or cleanse.

I think pineapple fast is easy if you can secure enough fresh pineapple (I am in California and I can get a whole pineapple for $3 every single day). If you don't have pineapple, you can do apple fast (same concept, might add apple cider vinegar in apple juice for drinks, but need to cleanse the colon) if you have a lot of inexpensive apples in your area. If orange is abundant in your area, do orange fast for 7 - 10 days.

I have even heard banana island... as banana is the cheapest, you can get 10 lbs for $3 or $4 at Costco, and people have a very tight budget can do. I heard people use banana fast to fix and reverse a lot of things too. Banana is a great poop inducer all by itself if you eat a lot.

If you worry about the sugar... 3 days spinach or carrots... Don't make it fancy, just as plain and as 99% to 100% of the mono food as possible.

My son told me that he watched You-Tube and a guy went on a potato only diet for 2 weeks and lost 10 lbs (boiled potato daily, and no butter or salt or anything else). I told my son I am sure that is not odd and unusual, as that is considered a mono food diet and for sure he lost a lot of toxins and stuff.

Normally, people do mono food diet will stick with what kills cancers and health situations the fastest, that is fruit with high vitamin C and anti-oxidants. Grape Cure and Master Cleanse (Lemon) are the highest on the top. It all depends on what is fresh, the best in season, inexpensive, and available in your area. You need to secure that food as your only source of food for 10 to 14 days. Of course, water fast is the cheapest.

Get the best organic, no chemical, no pesticide fruit you can get.

Keto fast is not restricted to fruit, obviously, it would be coconut fat, butter, olive oil, etc. as the base of the diet. 80% fat, 10% protein and 10% carb. To be safe, I will still add a bowel inducer to make sure there is no detox flu.

Gilbert, coming out from pre-diabetic situation, I am not sure you want to risk banana island or not. When I was in a shaky pre-diabetic state, I cannot eat banana without the shake.

If you want to do a fast, do a 3 Day Cleanse like Dr. Christopher's, you still need to clean your colon in the morning, and you stick with one fruit or vegetable. Once again, spinach, carrot or apple.

I had once done a Dr. Christopher's leaky guts yeast overgrowth protocol (30 days), that had essentially healed my leaky guts. It is like using additional herbal yeast kills for 5 days first (and cleanse the colon at the same time) and 3-4 weeks of low carb vegetables only (no root vegetable, beans, grains, or fruit) with additional guts healing herbs. The last week in the protocol, after the last round of yeast kill herb for a few days, use profuse amount of probiotics and fermented vegetable along with the low carb vegetables. It is close enough to the Wahl's vegetable so that you are not derivating much except for the meat.

That is something you can consider too. I had to sneak in a little bit of meat every few days (like a chicken drumlette or a chicken wing) as I really need some meat from time to time.

I know, we just want to get things done and get it over with. I understand perfectly.

      • I think pineapple certainly helps. I had caught the flu, but other than the initial headache and the chill and the need to sleep it off the first two days, I skated by without anything else (not even the sneezing or coughing) and definitely no running nose. I was taking liposomal vitamin C and was also eating a lot of pineapple during that week. I just caught a cold... I took lipo C, but since I ran out of pineapple, I was pineapple less for a few days. I have some lymph node swelling on the base on my chin above my neck... It is not painful, but it is tender to touch.

So, there you go, the last round of cold and the round of flu did not have the lymph node swelling at all. Pineapple has a lot of vitamin c... The core of fresh pineapple is where most of the enzyme is, so if you eat pineapple, do not get rid of the core. I slice it very thin to eat. Alternatively, you can cut them small and have it run thru a blender with water or coconut water for smoothie. Please do not waste the pineapple core.

I understand not risking any supplement. When I had adrenal fatigue, I got off all supplement. I think my body tells me to back off all things, and I did.

Do look into if you need MSM and supplement Glutathione. These two things are the mother of your own anti-oxidant factory. In addition, look into magnesium, it detoxes health metal and stuff, it is needed for 300 processes and I am sure some of them are for eliminating toxins. Vitamin C is another key thing you need to have a lot of to reverse adrenal issues.
