  • Which moves to avoid while on my period?

Hi all, i can't find any info on what moves to avoid while on my period. I know in yoga there are some contraindications while on menses, such as downward dog. I know ttapp doesn't exactly have such moves, but I do want to be safe. I can't find this info. I have BWO, BWO+, the book, Ladybug, Senior Fit, and Hormone Balance. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I do not do OIP while on my period. Otherwise, I always feel better when T-tapping. Oil Wells has been my to-go-relief-move during those days, highly recommended.

Same as Anna, I love Oil Well, Mitten Chop Box on those days. I hope the experts, BlessedMama or Ayj67, can provide more guidance.
As I always say, T-Tapp is God-Given and God Guided. I am honored to have the opportunity to share what's been gifted to me. There is so much more woven within each of the T-Tapp exercise and special sequences within the workouts than just a means to lose inches and look good......

So good luck....just do your personal best and you WILL continue to repair/rebuild from the inside out and your body will continue to look, feel and FUNCTION better too. - Teresa (April 12, 2018)

I am not aware of any moves that you need to avoid for menses... I, in general do not do much floor workouts on the second day (heaviest flow) for the leaking reasons, but doing more OIP and ladybug moves might help alleviate cramping. In general, stepping is a really good ideas during period, because of the release of hormone is dumped on to the liver to process and there are more toxins and emotion from the release of estrogen in addition to water retention.

Healthy Hormone Menopause Management would be another workout that might help with the PMS effects for menses...

In general, menses is a periodic cleanse that women have monthly and doing workout to improve the circulation and lymphatic pumping is desirable...

Long time ago when I was in track team in secondary school, the upper class girls said that skipping track practice and training because of period was not a good reason, she found running and jogging will end the period faster (yes, the period might be heavier, but we just need to change the pads more often).

I don't have PMS, but I got a little more fatigue the day before period these few years. I got more pressure (not cramp yet) when I had adrenal fatigue if I don't do regular workouts, but I don't have any issues when I keep regular.

Actually, Teresa advocated OIP as soon as possible after childbirth or even surgeries. She told me to tell, I don't remember if it was the 2013 or 2014 retreat. She advised her sister to do OIP at the hospital bed after her uterus surgeries, and sure enough the surgeons were amazed that her sister had no scarring tissues.

Thank you ladies! I appreciate all the responses. I agree that i do feel better when i motivate myself to move during menses. The hormone release and lymph drainage makes sense.
