Good Morning, not really new to TTapp. I have been off and on for 4 years...I have always gotten wonderful results! This time around I have been vigilant with the boot camp. I am almost done with the two weeks straight and have lost a considerable amount of inches. My question is...will I stop being sore soon? My muscles are sore and my knees sound like Rice Krispies. Any advice or insight. Please someone share your experience and hope with me! Thank you and have a blessed day.

Congratulations, Princess! What workout have you been doing? Be sure to shift your weight into your heels before pushing knees out to little toe. That really helps the knees! Also be sure to take 2 days off before resuming your workout schedule to give the muscles a break.

If you don't have kickouts built into your workout, feel free to take them! It will help with the soreness as well as helping you to reset your stance. Let me know what workout you have been doing and I can better guide you about the soreness.

Congratulations again! Finishing a bootcamp AND losing inches are both things to be VERY proud of!

Hi Trisha, I have been doing the T Tapp Basic. I have been sooooo out of shape for years too but very confident it will turn around! Thank you, thank you for advice and guidance. I am reading the book too but resonate guidance is refreshing!

I've been Tricia, Trisha, Patricia (my actual name!) and all variations of Trisch! I've even been called Chris and Tracey!

We like to tell everyone to listen to their body. If you feel you need an extra day off sometimes, take it! I know it can be hard to want to stop because we don't want to lose momentum. But the muscles do need a break at least one day per week--you can still do Primary Back Stretch and T-Tapp Twist Stretch on those days. I often advise a "light day" midweek--that's Primary Back Stretch plus 2 moves.

A few other hints for the knees---kick out between each set of Plies, and try holding the Plies squat vs going up and down. Also be sure the toes are straight forward and a bit closer--Teresa now advises a "mitten hand" or 4 fingers between ball joints of the feet. That plus shifting weight into the heels really helps the knees! And finally, think to get off big toes vs pushing really hard to get the knees out. Sometimes we "overdo it' a bit!

You might also find the tips in this blogpost I wrote a few years ago about Basic Workout helpful:

Let me know how you get along with your knees! Also consider joining us on the 6 Weeks to a New You thread on the General Forum. We can get chatty but we also state our goals and check in there, too. You're welcome to join no matter what week we're in!
