    Hi Ladies,

I was just wondering if it has to be Rose Hips? I really like Camu Camu which is one of the highest in Vitamin C.

Thank you for always sharing your wisdom

I'm with you, Abbie! I know it's so good for me, but I have a really hard time getting past the texture that reminds me too much of the castor oil I took to bring on labor with my last 5 babies!!!

Mary Ann, well, I am sure you can use camu camu, but I am not sure if you have to tweak the duration to soak and dissolve the camu camu into liquid Vitamin C before the lipid coating process.

I know organic camu camu is 5 times as expensive as powdered organic rosehips, by all means, please do try it. Well, acerola cherry and alma berries are other high grade food source Vitamin C, they are all more pricey than organic rosehips... Oh, hibiscus and cayenne are high in vitamin C too.

We have been also discussing non-GMO and organic alternatives to Non-GMO soy lecithin granules in another thread. Well, I found organic soy lecithin in the range of $32 a lb (when regular non-gmo soy lecithin around 10-12 a lb). Organic Rice Lecithin is also in that $30 price range. There is a non-GMO sunflower lecithin powder, that is $25 a lb, if you are non-GMO soy adverse, please let me know, I will point you to the other thread.

Please don't ask me if you can use liquid lecithin, as I have not tried making it yet, and I will not know if the liquid lecithin can use the same water dissolving and then blending method and if the recipe will be the same. I heard separation with the liquid lecithin from a liposomal Vitamin C thread at other forums. If you do want to try liquid lecithin, we have to go back to ask Jane Babcock or other Liposomal Vitamin C experts.

I asked the sunflower lecithin powder company about method and recipe, they said the method and recipe for soy lecithin will be the same as the sunflower lecithin powder. Now, I will expect the organic rice lecithin will be using the same method and recipe without complication.

if you use camu camu you must use 2 tablespoons instead of 1 otherwise your mix will be too watery.

also, when you're dissolving i recall them saying to let it sit for two hours to make sure it was really dissolved well

I know.........Maybe I'll try it again--maybe. I just don't know why...it's not even close to the most horrible awful tasting stuff I've tasted.

I have some Camu Camu powder and have made a batch here and there with it. It does come out thinner, and to me, the taste is stronger/different. You can surf the web and see lots of different versions. I tend to stick to the rose hip version most of the time. I have added some COQ 10 in previous batches. Have fun with it.
