Default Really Sore Hips (Hip pad area)

I have been suffering from really sore hip/hip pads for quite a while now. This condition even wakes me up in the night when I roll over. I am not sure what is causing it, or how to treat it. At first I thought that I was doing a really good job on TTT and that was the cause of the soreness, but I have come to believe it is something else.

Today I couldn't even work out. I did PBS, TTT Stretch and HDs. That was all I could muster. Later in the morning, I was making the bed and wham, the pain came on as if I had twisted something, although I had not.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to treat this condition?

    Thanks.
    Mary

Mary--I don't know what this could be. I hope you will be able to get it figured out soon, though!

I really have no idea what this could be. I was hoping someone would have some insights for you. Is it any better? Have you tried a long hot bath to see if that would relax the muscles and ease the pain any?

Where is the pain exactly? Is it in your lower back muscles? Or in the hip joints themselves? Is it in one small area or is it generally around there?

I tried to do a WO this morning, but could only get through PBS. It was very painful. I then had a hot tub which seemed to help, but it is still sore. The pain is in the hip pad area, not the joints. I am wondering whether I somehow pulled muscles all the way from my traps to my glutes. On Sunday my neck was very sore and the pain went down from there.

What really bothers me is not being able to WO.

    Thanks for your support ladies.

It really sounds like you must have pulled a muscle. The more you allow it to heal the quicker you can get back to working out. Think back and see if you can remember the initial point of discomfort so you can identify a move you may have done incorrectly which triggered the pain.

I would also suggest taking some of the Premium Blended Alfalfa as well as doing either a magnesium oil foot soak or bath. The Alfalfa is a natural anti-inflammatory so it will help with soreness and inflammation. While the magnesium oil will help sooth the muscles and relieve pain. I use magnesium oil any time I feel a muscle start to hurt or cramp/twitch. It helps tremendously. I even keep a little jar of it on my desk at work along with a bottle of Alfalfa.

I agree with Tiffany! Mag oil is wonderful, and I noticed when I took just 2 alfalfa the other day (after being out for a month) that some joint swelling around a jammed toe went down considerably!

I wonder if you might be using your glutes too much to tuck/curl? Once you're healed maybe slowly work on initiating the tuck/curl with your belly button pulled to spine first, then the glutes. That might not be it at all, but it came to mind so I thought I'd mention it.

Best wishes and may you recover soon!

Thanks again everyone. I take alfalfa (8/day) daily. I also had some tumeric tea. I was thinking of going to the health food store and seeing if they have magnesium oil. Is there any particular one that you would recommend?

    Thanks!

    Hi Mary,

I know exactly what you are talking about as I have the exact same problem and it wakes me up too. Describing it as the hip pads being extremely sore is perfect.

Oddly enough I have found that if I stretch a couple of times a day when I go through these bouts that in 4 or 5 days it is better. I don't think it is an injury, but more of tight muscles in my case even though I can't feel them being tight.

I put the heels of my feet together and then pull them in so my legs look like wings and hold that for a bit, put my legs out straight in front of me and together and hold that, and then do this wierd thing where I kind of lean to the side and put the sole of my foot to my bottom and hold that. I do that on both sides. I rotate through those three times each time I stretch throughout the day.

    Hope this helps!

    Chris
