    Default Fishy decisions.

It seems to never fail. Every time I start eating and enjoying fish there is some 'fish' story. This time I heard about fish being replaced by other types of fish. Ones that are cheaper and maybe not as healthy. Of course the consumers are led to believe they are getting the 'good' fish when a lesser quality fish is actually what we pay for. And expecting.

I feel that I go to a quality supplier for my fish but they say even professionals are duped by types of fish.

Is this a worthwhile concern? Is some fish better than no fish? I have seen charts suggesting which types to eat but even the different charts vary in their opinions.

    Opinions welcome!

I don't know Sharon, but I'd like to know more too.

I did learn the other day that my grocer which is considered a health food grocer adds food coloring (or dyes) to farm raised salmon. Because the farm raised salmon is naturally grey. I of course go with the wild caught salmon which is naturally pink. I had no idea and was grossed out by the thought of foods being disguised to trick people into buying them. That said the two similar products didn't look exactly the same to me so I could tell the difference going to any grocer. So look-alike products are indeed scary to think about.

That's awful, Erika! Especially for a health food store! Ick.
