I've heard people doing that, Abbie, but don't know anything about it, really.

I can not get over how much THICKER my hair is!!!! And it has such body! (I mean that in a loose sense...it's not like it's all of a sudden changed it's composition, but I'm used to seeing it pin straight and FLAT to my head!) I have one of those flexi-clips and I had bought an x-tra small because my hair was so fine and thin. Well, now, my hair is still fine but because there is more "volume", my x-tra small barely fits! If I try and twist all of my hair and then put the clip in, it won't even work. I have to just twist and leave a "tail" sticking out the top!

So I'm guessing that not everyone can go to just BS and ACV? My dd told me that it does take 3 weeks to strip the hair of what all was in it and then another 3 weeks to build up the good benefits. Where were you in that cycle, Abbie? I can't remember!

I hope you figure out what YOUR hair needs! But thanks for this thread!!! I can NOT get over just how much thicker and fuller my hair is! I need to work out how to have it be as soft as it was before when it was FLAT to my head, though!!!!!

Yeah, it sure is a challenge figuring out what hair needs! LOL! But as long as I don't go back to shampoo, I'm happy....

Abbie, I occasionally wash my hair with only conditioner and I love it. I use paraben free organic "good shampoo and conditioner" (I like Alba Botanica) I do shampoo more than I wash with the conditioner though. I have long straight hair and as long as I rinse it out really well I don't have any problems with it weighing my hair down. I don't use soap in the shower anymore either, just conditioner with a loofa or scrubbie and I LOVE what it does for my skin. Between that and brushing it is super soft.

Anyway, to get back on topic, I think I might try going no poo again. I'll let you know how it goes if I do.

A weird thing happened on Saturday. I didn't wash with BS and ACV. Didn't even wet my hair. It seemed fine, but I had thick white stuff under my nails if I scratched...and I did scratch. And the blemishes are back. I'm wondering if this because I am now in week 3 of this experiment. 2 weeks of GREAT results and now I'm in for 2 weeks of not so great results? Does the BS alkalinize the skin, scalp, etc? And maybe that is the wrong idea.... Hmmmm

I happened to think that we were using borax before we went to b/s. Not sure if that helped us get through the transition more easily or what!

Jennifer, I have times where my scalp seems more scaly, others more oily. Not sure if it's just hormonal transitions, too much sugar or just cycles of life!

You are under a lot of stress right now, too! Keep that in mind!

I got that icky white stuff under my nails to when I scratched, Jennifer. Never found out why. But it seems like your hair is likin' the no poo method though, I haven't heard you complain!

How do you borax, Trisch? Isn't that to harsh for your scalp/hair?

Steph, so you use conditioner to wash your body, eh? Hmmm, I've never thought about doing that. Let me know how it goes with no poo!

I'm still doing the conditioner only method. Not sure if I like it yet. I've only "conditioned" 3 times. But my hair seems to be me more curly. Also, I've begun "plopping" my hair, which is really helping my curls. http://www.wikihow.com/Plop-Your-Hair

Abbie, I know it's harsher than b/s, but it was my df who is a cancer survivor and went all natural that told me about it. And it's less harsh than the chemicals in the regular shampoos!

I was glad to transition to the b/s, but I wonder if because we used the borax for awhile, it already went through the other transition stage!
