    Default 1st trimester question

    Hello,

I am trying to find info on what is okay in the 1st trimester. Is t-tapp twist okay to do? Thanks.

Here's an article on the Mommy Fitness site:

    http://www.t-tapp.com/mommyfitness/a...trimester.html

I know some moms prefer to avoid twisting moves, so that is up to you. Technically they are safe, but if you have any history of miscarriage or threatened miscarriage before, you might avoid it the first trimester.

I've not been privileged to T-Tapp through a pregnancy, so that's jmho from what I've gleaned here!

    HTH!

Thank you! I do BWT+, ladybug standing, or target arms. Should I consider purchasing MORE for when my belly is bigger and I am slowing down? Or is that not necessary?

It's really up to you, mumto8. You can certainly modify BWO+ or LadyBug. It's just nice having the shorter MORE workouts for an option!

    Trish,

I went to your website and read your story. I too have adrenal issues, and have such a hard time getting my weight down. Even though I can do the t-tapp dvds pretty well and have gained strength, I have not had a lot of inch loss or weight loss. I make sure I keep good form. What do you think helped you? Did you count calories? Elimate certain foods?

I never really count calories. I'm not a fan of "deprivation dieting". I did eat along the principles of Dr. Diana Schwarzbein of The Schwarzbein Principle. You can learn a lot from her website and books:

    http://www.schwarzbeinprinciple.com/pgs/home.html

This page in particular helps explain the Transition and Healing phases:

    http://www.schwarzbeinprinciple.com/...read_more.html

I got a feel for the balance in eating and did the best I could. I never could do it 100%. I did find that upping my good fats helped my adrenals tremendously, and when I really focused on it last year, I really healed more and lost weight and another size.

It's really, really important to learn to listen to your body and embrace less is more when you're dealing with adrenal issues. That means you might only get a few moves in for a day and that's okay.

Look over Dr. S's site and see if you can get her books through the library. You'll understand a lot more about metabolism from reading her stuff! There's also some great, short videos on her site:

    http://www.schwarzbeinprinciple.com/pgs/info/faq1.html

Her motto is you don't lose weight to get healthy, you get healthy to lose weight--I found that very true!

    HUGS! HTH!

I liked using MORE through-out my last pregnancy. Of course no OIP and I only did a "tiny" stretch to the side for TTT since I had a miscarriage just months before at 10 weeks and had a scare at 6 weeks with this pregnancy I took it easy during the 1st trimester and a little into 2nd. You could modify BWO+ like Trisch suggested, slow things down, only 4 reps, hold plies squat, no single Jazz Twist, no OIP during Box and modify TTT is you feel you need to.
