6 Weeks to a New You! June 18 - June 24 - Wk 1
Come one, come all! It's time for a new "6 Weeks to a New You" thread to begin! A lot can be accomplished in 6 weeks. You just have to decide what you want and go for it.
This is a place for you to check in and let us know your goals, and what you are doing to make them happen! If you are new (and even if you're not), let us know a bit about you and your goals. You do not have to converse if you do not want to, just commit to 6 weeks of consistency, and check in to let us know that you are taking time for YOU!
Take your measurements, and just get to it! I am looking forward to seeing all of my old 6 week friends and would love to meet new friends too!
Here are some suggestions:
Introduce yourself
Make your own goals and state them if you choose
Take your measurements (email me for measurement chart)
Do your workouts consistently
Come and check in... give and get moral support!
Share any AHA moments
And please, anyone who just did the last six weeks, if you have had some wonderful results, or AHA moments, please let us all know!
I start a new thread every Monday morning for the new week.
Also, I have a word document that has this 6 week calendar and a grid for measurements on the bottom. Keep all of your information on one page! If anyone would like a copy, please email me at dms67@msn.com and I will send it to you.
Make today really count!

Hello to the 6 Weeks to a New You-ers! Isn't it cool to get an email from the marvelous Donna and know it's a time to begin again. This thread has helped me with accountability so much in the past, and I'm excited to have a little better circumstances in all the caregiving that I do, that I think I can join in again. When I was only as old as Trisch
(happy birthday!) I posted on this thread to document my full year commitment of 3 Total workouts per week. (50 is a good year!)
Can't wait to see the reports from everyone's last 6 weeks.
I came in a little late on the last go-round but I participated in tiria's Father's Day challenge and put my results into the thread, "A Maintainer's Tempo Arms Experiment"
I've been a T-Tapper since 2001, 5' 6", a Combo (learned this for sure at a clinic) who has a little ST/LL tendency. I consider myself in maintenance, but, having slipped a bit, I'm in need of slimming. I always skin-brush daily. 56 years old now.
For years now, I have had a lot of caregiving responsibility for family elders, and that is actually growing but happening in my own home now. My husband and I also have 4 children, and although the older ones may not need me much, I still have a lot of school/driving/childcare responsibility, too.
Goals this time - I'd like to match or exceed the last month's losses of 2.25 inches. Since there wasn't much pound loss, I figure that's probably what I'm due for next, so 5 pounds, as well!
I hope this is a great 6 weeks for everyone.

Ready to get started FINALLY!
Okay, I am jumping in here after several YEARS of reading avidly about Ttapp but not doing much. I have been doing some arm movements lately and have seen some results already, so I am inspired and ready to roll!
I am 48 and still not sure whether I am a ST or a Combo/ST. I have to admit that I really hate exercise, well, at least the heart-pumping cardio stuff that makes me feel awful. I know that Ttapp has its own cardio challenges but I am hopeful that I can go slowly enough to stick with it. Quitting is my specialty! LOL
I look forward to spending the next 6 weeks with all of you!

Good to see you back, M.H.! You're too funny! Thanks for the birthday wishes!
Of course I'm back in, too! My goals this week are my weekly class, and if I get my voice back in full, to get my video done for Michelle! Life happened last week more than usual so I didn't get it done then. I'd appreciate prayers to get my voice back--must have talked too much at my Ft. Wayne clinic yesterday! (Which went great, btw!)
Quick intro for any newbies, I'm Trisch, celebrating my 50th b-day today! married 29 years to my wonderful dh, have 9 dc--7 dds and 2 dss on the end! We live on a mini-farm with dairy goats, chickens, cats, one annoying pet goose and one dog. We're in the throes of 4-H preparations for the fair in just a few weeks! That means my house is messier than normal!
I've been T-Tapping since January 2007 and this past January certified as a T-Tapp trainer! I love love love it and am beyond grateful for Teresa, T-Tapp, the forums--and I have a special place in my heart for Donna and the 6 Weeks threads--been on here since I got on the forums in April of 2007!
Let's kick off a great six weeks!

Hello, everyone. I am new here so first time for this challenge. I live in japan with my J husband, daughter and foster son, both in elementary school. I'm 47, 5'7" 114 pounds (and have been my entire adult life due to surgery...you probably don't want to know). I am a pear shape with a bad bum and some growing saddle bags, plus back problems. I'm fine standing or sitting in a chair, but if i sit on the floor or bed or squat down to pull weeds for more than about 5 minutes, my lower back starts hurting andI have trouble standing up straight. Ive had crepitus in one knee for the last 10 years, which started during pregnancy. Actually, it was in both knees, but one healed. I avoid exercises that require jumping or lots of stepping. Walking is pretty much all I do.
So goals...I want to see the change in my rear view and be able to buy pants at my go to store again. I want my back to improve and maybe even the knee. I will take measurements because I would love to see what changes occur. Am wondering where would be best for me to start so I may make a visit to the newbies section before ordering. Meanwhile, I'll use the try before you buy exercises.
Looking forward to seeing everyone's progress.
Cherie

Donna, I am always so thankful for you heading up this thread and sending our calendars, but I can't tell you how much I needed to see that email from you show up in my inbox tonight. It's so hard to get back on track when a planned rest turns into a hard fall off the wagon. Well, I've certainly fallen, but now I'm ready to get up!
My name is Tami and I've been tapping since March of last year. I've been a 6 weeker since last May, but very inconsistent over the past few months, and just plain absent lately. I have a wonderful husband of 24 years and I homeschool my three kids, DD-16, DS-13, DS-11.
My goals for this week are BWO instr w/HD EOD, PBS and OIP/HF/E everyday. I'm not new, but I've ignored all things T-Tapp for the past several weeks, so I want to start like a newbie, with fresh eyes and listening ears.
I started working on my nutritional goals last week, and they're going well - not autopilot yet, but I'm comfortable enough with some of my changes that I can give more attention to working out.
Looking forward to an awesome 6 weeks!
Oh, and Happy, Happy Birthday Trisch! You are such a blessing and encouragement to me and I'm so thankful to know you. Hope you had a fabulous day!

Tami,
Welcome back, good that you show up. I was just going to PM you to round you up. Peggy and I are going for a do not over do challenge all the way to Labor Day, wanna join us? We are doing something similar to the Halloween challenge, except, strictly do not over do. Do something consistently, but listen to your body.
I think you might have had too much exercise and excitement built up for the Retreat, the had turned you off for consistency.
I am currently in some fatigue funk, and I cannot overdo to risk further damage. You know, if I have to have adrenal fatigue, I will have to be happy that the fatigue happens now and here, when I am prepared and educated about it from forum friends. I already found the smart and adaptive workout, T-Tapp.
Hi all, AYJ here. 45, mother of 2 boys, wife, kind of a career woman who keeps a messy house. I am a forumitis, unless I have no internet connection, I will be here everyday. I have the same goal since Sept 2010 when I joined the 6 Week thread: I have no particular goal, just keep myself honest and not to overdo. Overdoing is in my blood, reining that animal is an art that I am trying to perfect here.
This week, I am going to do 2 Tempo BWO+ 4 reps (or Healthy Hormone). I need to bump up the lymphatic pumping, so might add some More Step Away on the rest days and see if that is the ticket to my cure stress/acid reflux/fatigue.
Ordered More and TWO on 7/7/2010, Started tapping on 7/30/2010.

2012 60 Day Challenge Trainer/TnT Category Winner.

Hi ayj! Yes, I think the "not overdoing it challenge" may be exactly what I need! And I'm stealing your four reps idea - I forget how do-able but effective those four reps can be!

Hi everyone!!
I, too, was excited and glad to see Donna's email this morning!!! Woo Hooo!!!!
Hi all! I am Jennifer and just turned 50 the beginning of last month. I've been married for 27 yrs to my awesome husband! We have 7 children (see signature below). Our oldest dd and her dh and 2 babies are living with us now so our household consists of 2 married couples, 1 young adult, 3 teens, 2 school age, 2 babies!! Fun dynamics!!!! We home school as well.
I've been T-Tapping since 2009. There have times of inconsistencies but I KNOW that T-Tapp is the ONLY workout worth doing and I try to encorporate the principles in most everything I do.
Looking forward to getting to "know" you all and sharing this next 6 weeks with you.
My goals for this 1st week is:
More 3x, OIP/HF/E, AL(perhaps Healthy Hormones as one of those times)
Off Days of--PBS, OIP/HF/E, AL and DD
9 8oz of water a day
Making bone broth, figuring out and making some fermented veggies and making a Food Plan.
Jennifer
Wife for 28 wonderful years
Mom to 7 treasures--6 at home--ages 21, 19, 16 (girls); 15 and 13 (boys); 11 (girl)
Grandma to 2
T-Tapping since 2009

Welcome back, Tami! I've missed you!!! Abbie and I were saying the other day that we hadn't seen you for awhile! Thank you for the birthday wishes!
Welcome, Mary! We were posting at the same time last night! Nice thing about T-Tapp is it works for ALL body types!
Welcome, Cherie! Best place to start would be probably either MORE or Basic Workout Plus (or Total Workout, which has BWO+ as part of it). I love MORE--it's not just for those with health challenges or MORE to lose! It really lays a good foundation!
But if you prefer to get BWO+ or Total (TWO), we can help you get started with it so as to not get overwhelmed. I used to see the chiropractor twice a month and now I hardly see him at all! Maybe 4-6 times a year! You can learn a lot from the forums here, so stick around!
ayj, good thing you are forearmed with knowledge! So many people push through and do some serious metabolic damage that takes much longer to undo.
Well, I lost my voice teaching Saturday, and it's still pretty raspy! Several dc have had sore throats, and I think that might be part of it as I don't usually lose my voice. Hopefully I can teach my class this afternoon! I hate to cancel because I have a few planned weeks off coming up with 4-H--next Tuesday our general project judging starts!
And Sunday I take 18 yodd to the orchestra camp she's gone to for 6 years now. This is her last year and it's our last one--the next 3 dds aren't interested in going. Kind of sad! But it will make 4-H judging week a little less hairy!
I'm hoping my voice gets better quickly! I'm wanting to get my HTF video in for Michelle so I can start on my guinea pigs!
