Honestly, I would say the healing process of adrenal fatigue is not quick, but it IS possible to heal. Trish and AYJ have given LOTS of great advice, so listen to them because they really know what they are talking about.

My favorite thing to do for fat is to put a TBSP of coconut oil in my tea. I sweeten with stevia, which shouldn't affect your blood sugar. Also, Dr. Perricone recommends taking some psyllium husk in water before a meal to help blood sugar stay low.

    Hang in there!

    Angie,
That's good to know about rh rhodiola. We are all so different is right !
I am so thankful to ayj67 and Trisch and you for popping in here and help me sort and learn about what I can do to get healthy! To know it IS possible is all I needed to know. Now just need to DO what I need too, to get healthy.
I'm going to pick up more coconut oil and start using it everyday. I try put a tbsp of butter on my meals too. Now I may start scrapping up the frozen beef broth to heat and stirfry here too.

So hard to change from our old bad habits! Just to remind ourselves to eat fat, etc. That is a great idea in your tea. I'll have to see what I can do to keep it getting into me easy.

I don't have trouble with high blood sugar, it's the low sugar that really affects me right now.

Thanks Angie and everyone for holding my hand.

Forgive me if this was already asked. But, is good fats (like bone broth, coconut oil, butter) the same as having 'fatty meats' like chicken with skin on, or steak with fat on it, or pork chops with fat on it ? Is this considered the same 'good fats' ?

Then it is just the fried fats, or processed fats that are not good right ?

I made it up to 200 seconds the other night for my KLT ! Was pretty amazing!

Had trouble again after that, but hope it shows 2 steps back is one step forward or something ?

Thanks ladies and hope you all have a happy day with your hubbies tomorrow.

Good fat will include chicken, beef and pork fat if they are the pasture (organic, grass fed, free roaming with natural forage) types (not fed with chemical, hormone and funny things).

Oil in deep frying is normally rancid and will give more inflammation. The only good deep frying oil is red Palm oil, that can endure deep frying. Vegetable oil are mostly unsaturated, and it breaks down in high heat and become rancid. Animal fat normally can endure deep frying. Of course the worse is hydrogenated oil or shortening. You will be better off using lard.

I think Trisch was able to find some grass fed lard. The price for grass fed meat is high, the cheapest is the leg of lamb I got from Costco (New Zealand or Australian). Lamb, goat and buffalo are picky animals, they will only eat grass, so they are grass fed by default. Cattle is supposed to eat grass, when they are fed with grains, their body get sick easier and farmers gave them antibiotics. Organic in US normally means no anti-biotics, even they might still mix in some grains.

For the price of grass fed beef, it might be easier to get the leanest possible beef and add coconut oil or organic butter in the cooking process.

Roast a leg of lamb once a week, it is the cheapest roast out there.

Expensive, I have not even tried it. I don't normally deep fry... I was afraid of fat, now I am not, but I cannot afford deep frying with good fat.

    Thanks ayj67,
I'm finally getting adrenal testing done this week. He is only doing the urine testing and not the saliva, but wants to start with the free test first.
Unfortunately I can't afford the organic meat ? I try to get pasture fed for chicken but not sure about the rest. Money is so tight here, I just get what we can afford for now. :sigh:
Yes, fried stuff must be terrible stuff. I barely eat fried stuff anymore, except a few fries here and there.
There is so much info out there that is contradicting. My doc showed me a page for a doctor for adrenal fatigue and he says we can't eat any fruit, only cooked vegies, and coconut oil is not good, etc. :sigh: So hard to know what to do, when so much contradicting info is out there.
I've been eating alot of butter for now, (we had alot stored up in the freezer) and seem to have a bit more better days.
How can we tell that we are worn out and not just lazy. I mean some days I just have energy but am afraid to use it up. Other days I forget and then find myself just really tired. So have to literally take a break. I know it takes time, which is fine. Just wondering how can we tell when it's too much ?

Which reminds me, I've been watching the MORE Chair and the SUNRAY dvd and which one is actually 'easier' for adrenal fatigue ?
Watching them both reminded me how that would really tire me out even sitting.

Is there one better than another ? I hope to order that PBS dvd this month if I can afford it.

I hope to start a bit more of a chair ttapp workout, but need to make sure it doesn't wear me out ? Any suggestions ?

Thanks everyone and hope it's okay I keep this thread going ? I figured it is best to keep it all in one place.

How did you get over your fear of fat ?

I'd sure like to know. After all if we believe it and eat it, but 4 years from now find out we cluttered out body with fat and plugged arteries? ugh !

I have been eating it, but how do we know with all that is out there ?

I had my blood work done. Shows I am still low in Vit D even though taking 4000min a day.
    Obviously not absorbing it.

That plus he is sending me for blood sugar testing (mine is always low) and adrenal testing.

Some days I can to 200seconds of KLT and some days only 100seconds.
I would like to incorporate more ttapp that won't take all my strength to do it, (my legs are weak) so looking at MORE CHAIR and SUNRAY ?

Oh, what does anyone suggest for someone who works on the computer all day. Or alot.
I slouch terrible since I"m so tired, and weak in the core.

I know RIBS up and so on, but is there any easy way without wearing myself out to keep posture ? Or improve it ?

    Thanks everyone.

I did full GAPS for a while last fall - we have a daughter with very bad excema and have been trying everything we can to help her. We discovered that we can just add bone broth to our diet and she is much better - we dont have to stick to the full GAPS diet. Anyway, I found this article to be really informative. It specifically mentions adrenal support with bone broth. I also liked the link underneath that says Perpetual Bone Broth. Really easy info. I make my broth in the crockpot and it is easy, easy, easy. Hope some of this helps!

Once you decide to try one of the Chair workouts, I would recommend that you don't push in your feet too much. I expect that that will tire your legs/thighs out very quickly. That will be something that you can work up to. Just take it slow. Only do what you can and stop as soon as you are getting tired. Do that much each time and then slowly increase your time...just like standing in KLT. We take a Vit D liquid drops. Maybe that is something that you could asorb a little more easily?

We are here to try and help or at least be a place where you can visit and ask questions and know that someone is listening.

    Thanks Jennifer!
All replies are sure welcome! Love seeing new faces here too.
Yes, I'm already taking Vit D drops about 4000mg to 8000mg per day. But myself and my boys have absorption issues so we are not absorbing it. I try to sit in the sun as well, but that doesn't seem to be working so well either.

And thanks for the tip about not pushing the feet much. Do you know if Teresa recommends pushing the feet down for the entire CHAIR workouts ? Both SUNRAY and MORE ? Just curious as some moves you can't 'see' what she is doing and can't tell what she recommends unless she tells us ?

    THanks,
    ~Rita
