Rose,, I have a spot like that on my cheek right now; I must have gnawed it in my sleep or something. I hate foxtails! A seed in my puppy Mr. Worf's lung is what killed him at only 8 years of age. He was my dog heart and soul and not a day goes by where I don't miss him. I'm so glad you found the irritants and can help your precious animals with it. The cysts that form around them can get infected if not found in time. Good Job! And how nice to have your dishwasher working again! I haven't had one for years until this house and I love having it and am so glad it's working.

I have so much catching up to do and it'll be awhile, so I apologize. Mary, I hope you feel better and have a better week/month/year.

Someday I'll get a foodprocessing system and will need a bigger one. With all the dehydrating/freezing/canning I like to do it would help immensely. I need to check and see what a Blendtec is.

Trisch, congrats on doing so well being a Trainer. I know with your insight and empathy and zeal, you're are wonderful at it!

Jennifer, I like Cozy, too. I love those pretty pictures by Thomas Kinkade and want to transport inside sometimes when I look at them. I love his website: http://thomaskinkadegallery.com/stor...FQtThwodSnWRVw

Nikki, sorry about the trials of cookery. I have an Aunt Nikki (short for Nikolitsa) and she's a rip-roaring hoot and when she and my mom get together, they are hilarious and I see them as kids again.

Hi Lori, Joni, Wendy, Jennifer, Trisch, Rose, Nikki, Mary, Nanci, everyone! I'm getting more rest but am still mentally a ding-dong (which I'm craving, by the way, but being good and avoiding).

We had a doctor's appt. yesterday for a wellness check and Shaphan is thriving and in the 97% percentile for height and weight. He is very strong and has been rolling over on his own since 1.5 weeks of age.

He is gaining nicely and over 11 pounds now. In front of the Dr. he was trying to 'talk' and cooing at his brother Jephthah and reaching for him and pulling his brother's hands close! He also, when put on his belly by the Dr., lifted himself on his arms and looked around. The dr. gasped and said, "Look how strong he is!"

The babymoon continues and I just want to say to all you mom's with more than one child, doing errands, shopping, etc., I bow to how strong you are. It is quite a task to get strollers, carseats, diaper bags, etc., and try and get errands done. It can get quite complicated and you all humble, amaze and inspire me.

    Hugs,

Pamela, Type 3, strong secondary Type 4

    Hi everyone!

Good luck at the eye drs. Trisch! Hopefully you will be happy!

Pamela, that is wonderful Shaphan is doing so well. You are recovering great. We still don't get rest around here so you are doing great!

Hi Lori, that is wonderful your kids help you get in exercise. I am either doing good or can't get in one. It seems I spend every spare minute cleaning or cooking something.

So Wendy, did you get glasses or just lose alot of money? YOu know I have to know!

Jennifer, sorry your carpet seems so dark. Hopefully you will learn to love it. I love light carpet but it is only good for looking at because it is ruined so quickly. I vote for some fun new things to brighten it up.

    Hi Rose!

The kids only have 5 more days of school and 2 of those are half days. I confess, I will miss the quiet time. Now, if I can train them to be productive and not loud, I will be all set! The great fun will be me 2 and 4 yo are now friends and play all the time. The 6 and 2 yo are now buddying up too. THis is awesome since the other 2 just adore eachother. It should keep them busy for me.

Nikki, that's great! I think that you get in any workouts at all with such an active household and life is amazing.

Hi all! I'm so spoiled! Yesterday I spilled some coffee on my laptop keyboard (oops!) and 3 keys won't work. Now, I have had a hate relationship with that thing and have had problems with it for awhile. I almost replaced it right before we decided to do the loan refinancing and decided to wait. Well...I'm currently trying out my new computer! And so far its not skipping on me like my old one and the screen isn't blitzing out and its not pausing constantly. Woohoo!! Like I said...spoiled. Oh, I ought to mention we sign the loan docs TOMORROW! Yay!!! So I guess this is a celebratory computer...

Pamela, lovely news to hear from you! I can easily imagine how much you are enjoying the little fella. Yes, multiple kids do take some balancing! I recall when the 4th was born I felt like I was doing a juggling act! Foxtails are heinous things. I had an awful time answering my youngest with grace when he asked "Mom, why did God make foxtails?"

Wendy, glad you are enjoying your Ninja and thanks for the review! Like Nikki, I use my Blendtec so so much that I can't imagine being without it. When it dies I will replace it with a Vitamix though.

Oh Nikki! You will have your hands full soon!!!

I know I'm missing a lot but don't have much time. Just wanted to say hi to everyone and test out my new computer!!!

Rose, tell your youngest that foxtails were sown by the devil!

Okay, maybe that's not theologically correct....

    Yay for the new computer!

Pamela, Shaphan sounds like he is doing SO well! I'm sure all the extra attention he gets helps him be so smart and strong! Not to mention all you've done to make your pregnancy the best it could be--physically and emotionally!

yeah on the loan, Rose. Somehow I missed that.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Devil did create those harmful things, personally. Remember, he could replicate some of the 10 plagues.......

Yes, they are from the devil! I first said I saw absolutely no reason for the blasted things and then I thought a minute. I told him that perhaps they were seeds of adversity and something to test our mettle to see how well we act under fire. Something like that....the kids a thinker and he ruminated a bit on it!

Pamela, we've been working on this refi for a several weeks now. It's been a real path!! (speaking of adversity...) But we got a higher appraisal, are getting rid of PMI, lowering our interest rate by .8% and controlling our own escrow (which has been mismanaged). So awesome!!!

Hope everyone has a good day!

(Oh man...I typically milk the girls at 8:00. I'm currently sitting here drinking my cup of coffee and listening to them all DYING out there! Haha!! Nubians are SO DRAMATIC!!!)

And noisy! The noisiest goat we had was a Nubian and she was hilarious.

I'm so happy for you, Rose. I can also relate to the Nubians when my milk comes in and I feel like I could be part of Buckingham Fountain in Chicago.

Rose - Those goats sound so funny!

Hi Lori! It's so good to see you here!

Hi Joni - Missing you! How are you doing? How is your foot

Pamela - You know, I just remember how physically tiring having little ones is! I had a neighbor who told me I needed to exercise more when I said I was tired. Um, NO! I was hauling double stroller, diaper bag, a baby and managing a 3 year old, who couldn't get in and out of my truck, etc. I was physically tired from motherhood. BLESS YOU! I also remembered a nutritionist telling moms to go slower on the exercise because physically they were lifting ALL day long. I said AMEN! lol

We had a fun evening - a ribbon cutting for our new phase 1 of the playground. It was fun. The kids got to release the balloons. So cute. We have raised 75% of our goal since March which is amazing. The principle said that if you told her in March we'd be this far she would have said no way. We won a contest and are receiving about 1/10th of the amount we need to raise. What a wind fall. :-) I have to hand it to the PTA president. She's an amazing woman who always has a smile and "I know we can do it" when others said we couldn't. I was there with those conversations. What a gift she has. The fun part was having 100+ kids all on the play equipment with no room to spare. It was fun.

Oh, I failed to mention that the eye doctor I went to referred me to another place to have my DS's eyes looked at. I was telling her the cost and the gamble and she said to go to a local university since they do eye therapy. She thought this was a critical time for him eye development wise and didn't want me to miss something. I'm going to try to get an appt. for him soon. She also said to tell them you can't make all the appointments due to living so far and ask what can be done at home, vs. 3+ hours out of our day driving. I spoke to my DH about it and he seems favorable. I'd like to have my DD checked since she has issues herself, but I'm not sure she'd go for it. I'd have to do some fancy talking.
