Your mom's a good sport! You are a good daughter, Chi.

Yes, Mommy has to relearn and rethink about the conventional wisdoms. As following the More is better, Faster is better, sweating buckets i better, No Pain No Gain did not get us anywhere except sport injuries from over use and repetitive motions in bad alignment. We keep getting bigger and bigger muscles but no change in the fat accumulation. When people use weights, more than they are supposed to be able to handle, they gain big huge muscles when the fat layers remain unchanged.

Do not follow advices meant for men and jocks. Women has less muscles to start with, and we have less fat burning enzyme and less testosterone to make muscles, we are from Venus, we need to follow rules of our gentler planet.

Sometimes, you have to slow down to go faster.

I'm either getting in worse shape or getting better at this - I had another insane day with a homeschooling co-op meeting and busy times with my husband out of town and didn't get my TTap done until just now, 9:20 AKST. Due to the time of night I didn't do the planned HTFS but just did BWO+ instead, and it was HARD. Very sore and tiring, even though I have done this workout fifty times. I really felt each move and was focusing very much on my activation, and it was as challenging as TWO has been for me, to be honest.

If you ladies want to supercharge your hoedowns, I think I figured out the way to do it - I did my hoedown sets in BWO+ focused on my lat activation and keeping shoulder set, instead of my usual lift-rib focus, and each leg lift became harder the moment I was focusing a different muscle group. Interestingly I also felt it more in my transverse abs than normal, despite not putting inordinate attention on my core. Getting my lats really pulling toward the floor increased the intensity double what I normally feel, when I am just focusing on the front of my body. Crazy hard hoedowns and I am still feeling the burn/use of my abs here, even ten minutes later. Wowza!

It was like a hoedown on steroids. Similar feelings happened with TTap twist, when I focused in pulling my belly button to my spine during the twist and bend, as opposed to just thinking of my shoulder-to-hip alignment. It was a much more intense move when I added that activation in. I hope this means I am progressing and not just wearing myself out so even basic moves feel hard!

Taryl, you have a wonderful blog. It is very interesting and inspirational. Keep going. I especially relate to your description how mental work is THE most important thing in the universe of weight loss. I'm reading a bit of your blog every day when I have time, until I reach the starting point, when you began this amazing journey.

    Sounds like you're progressing, Taryl!
Nurit, I've been enjoying Taryl's blog too! Very inspirational!

Today is my off day. I think I'm going to take it off completely today. I didn't get enough sleep last night and I could use a rest day!

Taryl, I enjoy your blog too and I relate to soooo much of what you say! I have been told by some that T-tapp is boring and I immediately want to say "then you are not doing it right!" LOL! Another person told me they watch tv or listen to audio books...again..."you must not be doing it right!" Often, I have to close my eyes to shut out everything around me and FOCUS on doing a move right. Anyway, thanks for sharing with us all!

I did OIP/PBS and SATI today. Tomorrow is our *gone all day* day of the week. A long time ago I gave myself permission to take the day off, but I might start doing OIP/PBS and TTT before we go.

Well, I'm running late. Need to get my little scholars back on track!

    Have a wonderful day!

Taryl - me too! Love your blog. You are an impressive writer - express your thoughts so well. Thanks for sharing!

This morning I went back to BWO+. I don't think my lats are strong enough for Tempo Arms. I woke this morning to SUPER tight traps. (I'm pretty trap dominant - something I work on, but haven't quite mastered...) I'm thinking I'll add MORE Broom next week. (No point doing it just tomorrow and then out of town. I can't be hauling a broom to my hotel! LOL) It felt good to stretch and really work this morning though. Amazing what a great workout BWO+ is!

Last night my dh didn't have to go to work - he had an appointment in Orlando (which was VERY unsatisfying... still no resolution...) so took the day off. (Switched days off with another guy, so he'll be working Fri night instead.) So, since he was home, I got off work "early" (6:30 instead of 7) and we were going to ride the horses. He was "supposed" to have them saddled by the time I got home, but I found him napping on the couch! LOL However, it was all good, because ds got home and surprised us all by asking if he could go too! He hasn't ridden a horse in several years! His pony died in 2008, but it had been awhile prior to that since he had ridden. He had real problems with his knees aching when he rode - even bareback. So he just quit.

Anyhow - he rode our Cracker Buddy and had a good time! Said his knees were fine! (But his bony little butt was another story - he used my OLD saddle with no padding in the seat and it's not comfy! LOL) We had a great time!

The chickens are growing daily - gotten to that gawky teenager stage. I'm still waiting for them to grow enough feathers to figure out what they are going to actually look like. I think I have 3 black sex links and 3 red sex links - they all look like clones of each other. Still waiting on names until their personalities shine through.

Yesterday I downloaded the call with Joan from Health and Wisdom and also the call from last week with Lauren. I've been faithfully soaking my feet - they are feeling a little "raw". Might need to dial it back a little. But now I'm seriously considering buying some Blow Your Buns. I'd never been interested in it before, but hearing I could put it on my turkey neck???? (I brush daily and my neck is looking better, but it's still the part of my body I am least happy with...)

cbuffy, sounds like you had some good quality time with the family! What are you going to do with the chickens? Keep them for the eggs? (can you tell I'm a city girl transplated to the country? LOL!) Are you allowed to share the links with us for those calls? I don't have facebook. I enjoyed that first call with Teresa SO much!
Polly, you're right! They must not be doing it right!

    Hi Everyone,
I'm still here! Hubby is finally getting better. It looks like he experienced something called hypersensitivity pneumonitis...severe allergic reaction that resulted in some major lung inflammation. He's finally starting to breath better. And, drove himself to work today. After nearly three full weeks of this, I'm so relieved. We ended up seeing a pulmonary specialist that did a bunch of tests to make sure his heart wasn't affected and there wasn't permanent chronic damage to his lungs. So far, so good.

I didnt do any kind of workout for two weeks. This past Saturday I popped in my disc of the Healthy Hormones special from the recent DDT. It's a KILLER workout! I'm amazed at the level of activation I'm able to get during those 20 minutes. (I saw that some of you all are posting that the workout is 10 min? Mine is a full 20 min. Weird! Are there different versions, I wonder?) I did that workout for the past six days, plus OIP.HF yesterday and today. Wow, it's good to be back in the T-tapp saddle!

I had to back out of my recital (the one I tried out for in April) as it was too chaotic with my husband's illness. I was acting as hubby's secretary (he couldn't speak, but had a myriad of calls to return for his work) and cook, laundress, waitress, and driver. I love that guy! Anyway, I didn't have any time to practice dancing. I didn't have the focus, either. It was very scary. We were very worried, cause he wasn't able to speak or walk for about a week.

But, silver lining, on Monday I was invited to dance with my teacher and her troupe at an outdoor festival in Annapolis this coming Sunday. Very low-key and relaxed event. I said, "yes!" Fingers crossed that hubby will be able to accompany me. We'll have to bring him a camping chair as I'm also hoping he'll agree to take a video or some photos.

I will slowly catch up on all the shenanigans I've missed here by reading through your posts.

    Happy May!

    ~Jennifer~
