Exclamation ‘Stand-Up-to-Sitting-Disease’ T-Tapp Hoe Down Challenge!

The T-Tapp Office is a wonderful place to work, but our working environment is not like most people would assume. We are not a gym, a studio or a fitness club - we are an office! We fight the battle of the "spread" from sitting at desks in front of computers just as much as everyone else does!

Our boss, however, happens to be ah-mazing! She created this powerful move called Hoe Downs (maybe you have heard about it? ). She smiles ear-to-ear when she sees us getting up to combat our mid-afternoon crashes and normally - if she isn't running out the door to a meeting - she will join in with us adding her additional tips for muscle activation to our regime.

Lately, the T-Tapp Office has been BUSY and our Hoe Downs have gone from at least 3 sets a day to a lonely 1 set. However, hope is on the horizon!

T-Tapp Trainer Dorothy Hall has posted a fantastic challenge called Stand Up to Sitting Disease - T-Tapp Hoe Down Challenge on her blog (read post here: http://brightbodyfitness.com/stand-u...down-challenge).

This was posted at the beginning of the month, but you know what? We're in, Dorothy!

1-2 sets of Hoe Downs every hour is QUITE the commitment, but YES WE CAN!

Want to join in? PLEASE, join us!

    "Take the Office Challenge!
Are you reading this at the office wanting to participate but feeling too self-conscious to do something as goofy as Hoe Downs in front of your workmates?!

Recruit your fellow office workers. Let them know that this is not some fringe, trendy latest fad about health. It’s actually an urgent matter that is receiving much press and attention from the medical community. Many businesses and corporations and HR departments are integrating programs into their work cultures.

Use this opportunity to educate and recruit your fellow office mates — get them to go outside with you to perform your Hoe Downs or just do them at your desks. You never know…it can be contagious and can help to bring awareness to others of the dangers of sitting for too long.

Won’t you join me? Let me know in the comments below or visit us over at the T-Tapp Forum where I’ll be making updates as to my own participation and we can support one another!"

    Have a great day!

Lauren, I felt inspired to look at the forum again just now. My first visit here, I was trying to absorb everything and was overwhelmed. I missed the discount day last month and am waiting for next Tuesday to order. Meanwhile, I've just started using the free resources and hoedowns are the only thing I feel I can do...sorta. So even though I'm not in an office, I want to increase my acitivity. So I'm in! And I'll have a look at Dorothy's post. So nice to have some buddies

I often wear a skirt/suit to work, which makes it rather difficult to do HDs during the day. But I found the Chair version of HDs today, so I have NO excuse now.

    Keep smiling,

I'm a dental hygienist and do a combo of sit/stand to work on my patients. I love this suggestion of office HD's and will introduce it to my office friends.
