Glad you liked it Nanci!! I find that the whole chia seeds work much better then the "peppered" chia seeds. I am not sure which kind you have?? Whole chia seeds make the pudding more like tapioca pudding--which I love.

    Anyways, glad you liked it!

About 2/3 of the can is thick, but the bottom, watery third takes some mixing to get the consistency even. I like a CHOCOLATE taste. Some of my friends prefer a bit less cocoa. If you try it, I'd like to hear how you like it!
Thanks, Brooke! This definitely sounds like one for the full fat!
I use the lower fat one for certain recipes where you don't need all the fat. I don't think of it as low fat, like many ingredients, where they add sugar to make up for the lower fat as opposed to just less fat in the can! My way of thinking anyway!

Default FYI: Are natural sweeteners good for you?

I found this upon doing a search about agave, which I personally like and have used, but have heard that it's worse for you than HFCS

http://www.foodrenegade.com/are-natu...eeteners-good/ This agrees with what Teresa says about sugar

I looked at the recipe, but the 2 cups of sugar seemed too much. I worry about that more than flour since my sugar consumption has gone way down since starting TTapp

Hi, Nanci, I share your concern with lots of sweeteners, even though they're labeled as natural. I'm trying to use SMALL amounts of honey, whole fruit (or dried dates), stevia, or SMALL amounts of xylitol as my only sweeteners. Finding dessert recipes with these restrictions is um....not easy.....

We used xylitol sporadically because my son often gets candida flares, and xylitol does not "feed" yeast. But it is not easy to cook with! I agree, Brooke, I have not had good experiences with dessert recipes. What I have been doing for months is using evaporated cane juice (I know it's still sugar but at least it's not processed) but cutting the amounts in recipes in half. Or we use honey and now I'm hooked on that raw brownie recipe made with dates.
I know when we tried GF for my son several years ago, so many of the recipes jacked up the sugar content.

After reading that Food Renegade article I posted above, I have finally made up my mind about agave and won't be buying it anymore. I've been going back and forth on this for awhile, but somehow that article made sense and clicked.

It is amazing to me how much my sugar cravings have subsided with TTapp. That was such an unexpected benefit! I have found that I have lost my taste for overly sweet things - I never thought that would happen.

Does anyone know about Brown Rice Syrup as a sweetener?

Edit...never mind..just found an article about arsenic found in organic brown rice syrup. http://www.cbc.ca/news/health/story/...l?cmp=rss?vm=r

Chia seed pudding is SO good!! I love pudding, and especially pudding I can eat for breakfast (that's the only one I've found )
