Thread: my intro and feeling discouraged

Default my intro and feeling discouraged

Hi, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Celestia. I'm 41, married and have seven kids. I homeschool and love that, plus reading, writing, blogging, and playing the piano. I have been doing t-tapp faithfully since Monday Feb. 20. I did the 14 day boot camp. Now I am doing it everyday. My progress is slow! If I really suck it in I can say I lost 4 inches on my waist, but I can still fit my size 18 pants and they sometimes feel tight. I have lost four inches off my abdomen and 1 inch off my hips and nothing else. Is this small amount normal for six weeks? I have cut back on my calories by avoiding all grain and sugar. Do some people just have a really slow metabolism that takes awhile to budge the pudge? How can I increase the inch loss?

    Welcome Celestia!

Can you tell us if you have any hormonal issues, or health issues, including adrenal fatigue?

    What workout(s) are you doing?

Are you taking any days completely off?

Do realize that T-Tapp rehabs the body from the inside out, so sometimes if there are inner issues going on, it might not show up on the outside as quickly. Losing 4 inches off the waist and an inch off the hips is no small feat--those are tough areas for most of us to lose from! My abs and hips stayed the same for f-o-r-e-v-e-r at first!

Are you noticing anything in the way of health, stamina, better sleep or other improvements?

Let us know what you're doing and if you have any health issues, and we'll see what we can do to help!

Oh, and be sure to read and apply Michelle's great "Curl Your Core" tips!

Welcome Celestia! Wow - what great consistency! And that, of course, is half the battle.

I'm totally impressed with 4 inches lost on your waist - that is fantastic!!! It isn't at all unusual for it to sometimes feel a little bigger than other days - one of the annoying things about the human body is it doesn't always "clean up" the areas we want cleaned up in the order we want them cleaned. (kind of like KIDS! grin)

Sometimes (as Trisch mentioned) you have to fix the interior stuff first. And sometimes we have, what we like to call, the "dreaded fat shift". One of the great things T-Tapp does is lift and reshape the rear end. But when you have a good amount of, um, fluff over the rear, it has to go somewhere - and generally it defies gravity and shifts UP. Which plays havock on your waist measurements. But the good news is the order. First it shifts UP and then it shifts OUT (in other words, GONE!)

Hang in there - it's a journey, not a destination. And the journey is great fun. Especially when you hang out with this silly group of ladies... (and a couple of gentlemen - when they are brave enough to speak up).

    Celestia,

    Welcome.

So, you have lost 4 inches off your waist and 1 inch off you hip? Let me tell you, those are the most important inches to lose for health reason. it is phenomenal for 3 weeks.

The 4 inches you lost, must be some significant visceral fat, that lines the vital organs inside your body. This alone decreases multiple health risk. Good job, don't give up, you are doing good.

I wonder if you are having water retention. Are you drinking enough water? In addition, are you having enough sleep. Do you have sometime everyday to set aside to destress?

If you are doing Basic only (Instructional 1), take at least one day off. If you have auto-immune disease, I will suggest you do every other day on short workout, not more than 20 mins. If you are doing the Total workout, everyday is definitely too much, you need a few days of rest before starting up on EOD.

I will suggest that you learn curl the core that Trisch linked up for you, and do Instructional 1 slowly and get the alignment and form as good as possible. Add some walking if you do not have the walking exercise.

If you are using the More DVD, I will suggest you go back to the More Instructional, and do the More Step Away on your off day if you stamina is up for it, add More Chair before More Step Away.

PBS can be done in the Morning and before bed, or learn to do Organ in Place (it in in the More DVD for the Floor, you don't need a slant board if you don't own on). If you don't have More, or you don't have the DVD comes with the book, download the written instruction from Try Before You Buy at the T-Tapp Website.

I'd say keep up the good work! Where would you be if you lost 5" every six weeks? You are doing fantastic. Don't get discouraged, instead of that be encouraged by your losses so far, and your consistency. Read the success stories, talk about form tweaks on the boards, and keep going!
    So glad you're here.

Hi Celestia, just like you my results have been minimal. I've been t-tapping for 4 weeks and have seen about a 2 inch loss. But I have to say that I definitely feel the difference on the inside! I have so much more energy throughout the day and just feel generally better. I don't think I've been drinking enough water, so I'm correcting that now. I love t-tapp and I know the results will come if I hang in there. I believe they will for you as well. Sometimes our bodies can be a little stubborn, especially when we reach a certain age. I'm 52 and post-menopausal. My hormones have held me hostage long enough and I'm not gonna take it anymore!!

Hi Celestia. Welcome and congratulations on your loss so far. I am also 41 and have 7 children I have no advice, since I am just learning about t-tapp, but I just want to encourage you to stick with the forum, as there is so much great advice here.
