That was a HUGE step! Yeah for you, Kim.

I am convinced that oftentimes we don't need a major WOE overhaul, especially if we normally eat healthy, we just need to cut out the mindless calories. Then we can REALLY enjoy when we do eat something we like. We can be "in the moment"

Thanks for starting this challenge- I am in!!

Why it is a challenge for me to slow down and savor my food is a challenge, I don't know - bad habits I guess. I do know when I eat slowly and pay attention to what I am eating, I am satisfied with less. I have had difficulty making this a habit - I believe this challenge will help me instill this valuable way of eating.

I think I will reread the book "Women, Food and God". If you haven't read it, I would highly recommend it - it has some very good insights.

I so much enjoy good food. When I take the time to be thoughtful, I ask myself why I would hurry to finish something that is so enjoyable ! I believe good food is a gift from God - it is up to us to put it in it's proper place in our lives.

I am enjoying a other tremendous gift from God this week and am spending time in Cabo San Lucas with my husband. It is a business trip for him, but has a lot of time built in for fun and definitely lots of good food. The food has been outstanding!

Without this challenge, I would be telling myself I will deal with food issues and eating too much when I get home. Thanks to the challenge, I am starting NOW! Thank you!

I have already given up desserts for Lent. Now I am going to concentrate on eating slowly, mindfully, and thankfully!

Susan- It was your thread that started me thinking about this, so thank YOU!

I hope you have a restful vacation.

It is such a good reminder that good food is a gift from God...He could have made everything "utiliarian" (just for fuel) and everything to taste the same. I'm so glad He didn't!

I have been paying close attention to portions and serving sizes, and since Thursday I have lost 4 pounds. I find that really, I can get filled up by what fits on a salad plate, as long as that plate contains healthy food and not junk. Eat junk and your body will demand much more of it because it's low-quality fuel.

I've done really well today with being mindful.

For dinner, we had a mac and cheese made with sweet potatoes to cut calories and add in veggies...normally I just shovel in spoonful after spoonful, thinking that it's "okay" because it's healthier, but I purposed to each each piece of pasta (spirals) one at a time and slowly. I really enjoyed it more and ate less. And I made myself finish my water and really think if I wanted seconds or not. I did have a bit more, but again slowly.

It's nice to have the accountability.

I don't know if you ladies saw the thread I started last week, but I've also been doing these few TTapp moves before dinner each night. http://forum.t-tapp.com/showthread.p.....had-to-share

I have found it helps me to be mindful and eat less for dinner. If you try it let me know what you think

I baby sat for the grandkids this evening and did not eat any of the saltine crackers left out! (Usually, I crave them and will have a few.) But not tonight!

    So proud of you, Mary!

It's so easy to finish off the little one's food and think nothing of it. WTG!

Mary, Wanda, Kim, Meredith, Susan...how did you do yesterday?

It's been fun and freeing to really pay attention and to be satisfied with less food..."Less is More" even in eating when one is mindful

I have done no eating between meals and today, even left the last bit of home made potato wedges on the table. I was full and didn't need more to eat. I am drinking cold water not eating even late a night on the computer (my usual downfall).

Thanks for holding me accountable. It helps!
