Oh thats very exciting Peggy. I know Matt says to only work out if you genuinely feel like doing it and want to, not by force. The first week or so you do really feel the healing start to happen and I just felt like sleeping a lot. But after that its up to you. It's hard for me to resist the opportunity to build my ttapp muscles with all that fuel but I mostly do BW or break Instructional 2 into small bits. Does that help?

I know it's counterproductive to obsess about food, exercise, etc. during this 30-days but I want to give it a fair shot by staying close to the guidelines. I'm still in the "mental preparation/ motivation" stage but expect to be officially starting soon.[/QUOTE]

Peggy, I'm w/you...still in the mental state of preparation....not sure what I'm waiting for!!

Well, I am going to try to start tomorrow....this, after stopping a very low carb diet so I am not sure what will happen. I do not want to gain back my 30 pounds I lost last year and I don't want to start swelling up from eating carbs. I will have to do it somewhat gradually, so my body can adjust to the higher starch.

I don't really trust the guy who wrote the ebook, but I do like the testimonies I have read of those who have tried it. I just have to keep reminding myself that this goal is going to be to try to raise my temperature vs. losing weight. Beyond that I have no idea how much exercise I will be doing, though I would really like to be doing some. I know I will probably gain some weight....and I'm hoping that will not discourage me. I guess the tricky part for me is how much food is enough or too much. Just wish there were some food journals to look at.....but I think that is part of it....to not stress about it.....eat real food, stay off sugar, sweeteners, coffee, refined/processed foods, and seed oils. I will see how it goes...and I am not promising or committing to anything....how's that for no stress!....just going to take one day at a time. It will be interesting.

I guess it's not that I don't trust him, truthfully though, his crude language makes me disrespect him. It makes him seem like an immature punk to me. Maybe that is just me, but it's gets in the way.

I do think he has read a lot and he is trying to get the information out there and help people and I am thankful for that. In fact, he has so much information out there that it spins my head and sometimes is frustrating, but that's not his fault.

He also has some good recipe videos if anyone is interested http://180kitchen.wordpress.com/

I don't care for the crude language, either, Suzie. Thanks for the link to the recipes. Saw a good way of cooking carrots (or other root vegetables) that I will try.

I must say, I was prepared to say he was bogus because he didnt have any papers. BUT a lot of what he says makes sense. Im on page 31 of his book. So far, from what I can understand, it's a lot like how I use to eat, except for the sugar. Thanks for the info and link, it makes for interesting reading!

Yes, the common sense comes through and keeps me intrigued. If you read comments on his blogs (he's very active in responding to folks) he's all about finding what works for you, not some prescribed plan of any kind. He has general theories, but is honest about saying he doesn't know it all and that sometimes you just have to eat what you want and see what happens. He advocates really trying to tune into your body's signals as to what it needs or wants. He even tells certain people to eat junk food for a few days when that's what their body needs, but his idea isn't to stay there, only to heal messed up metabolism so then you'll want the best food, if I'm understanding correctly.

I'm also interested in learning more about his cooking tips and menus, as he is an experienced chef. Some of my problem is not knowing enough about cooking to make things tasty. I already picked up an easy way to do carrots, one of my favorite veggies. I'm not gung ho about giving up sugar for a month but I probably need to. If I'm going to be stressed about it, though, it would be better to just moderate it, which I think I can do more easily. Who knows, I may get motivated to go the extra mile and give it all up, but I don't feel pressured to do that.

I am gleaning exactly what you are, Peggy. It is all interesting and making me rethink a lot of things. Just going to take it one day at a time and I am going to try to stay off the sugar and even stevia. At least for the 30 days....if I can. I am hoping the extra starch will satisfy me. I'm going to use good fats but not as much as I have been using. More starches, less fruit. Some protein. I am also going to try no coffee.....that is my weak point..... a nice strong cup of coffee with heavy cream. We'll see. It is all going to be a big experiment.....I hope I don't regret it.

There is so much information out there about diets. What he says about "x" researcher that wrote a book about diet and left out important info that negates the diet, really rings true with me. I went to see a nutritionist that my medical doc sent me to and she was totally out to lunch. Complained that people were drinking rice milk and nut milks when "they" could easily drink cows milk. I am allergic to cows milk and told her so. She was still telling me to drink cows milk. She was an educated nut. Ive tried the diet with the mufas, cant remember the name of it right now and although it sounded good, the chocolate mufa gave me an excuse to eat the food Im addicted to. I crave chocolate and sugar. That is my starting point. I know that is where my problems start. As for eating just veggies and meat, I crash in a couple of hours, unless I eat a veggie that has carbs. So for ME the diets that are low carb diets dont work for me. I wish they did, but they dont. So for that reason alone, Im really curious about what he says.
