Thread: I lost 20 inches and then nothing. Help appreciated!

Default I lost 20 inches and then nothing. Help appreciated!

    Hi Ladies,
I have been tapping since mid August. In the first month and a half, I lost 20 inches doing the basic workout daily and I was thrilled! It seems that in the last 2 months nothing has happened! Am I doing something wrong? Should I be tapping everyday? How often should I do the full workout that is outlined in the book? Do I need to add any other workouts? Do I need to follow the MM/GM diet to see results? I eat pretty healthy, but don't go "bread free" on a normal basis.

I love the workout and want to continue melting! Any advice is appreciated!

    ~Lauren

Lauren, tell us a little about what you are doing now--TWO EOD or BWO+ daily?

Age? (or at least whether you're 30s 40s, etc.) Hormonal issues? Less or more to lose?

My own inch loss has been an up and down experience--bigger losses followed by little to none. The body does need to regroup and rebalance, so if you've been consistent and are activating to your max, with no other major issues or changes that could be contributing, it might be an issue of give it time.

I would revisit Michelle's Curl Your Core tips as most of us tend to lose the focus and not realize it. If you can work out with a mirror, or even better, video yourself, you might find areas of form you can tweak a little better.

Eating GM/MM can certainly help, but I would first take a look at your form. And let us know what you're doing now to see if you need anything else.

    HTH!

    Thanks for the reply!
I am 33 and weigh around 155-158 (5'7"). I teach dance and eat pretty well and until t-tapp could not lose weight no matter what I did (including dancing for hours a day and burning tons of calories!) My stomach has always been the hardest part to lose. I was often asked if I was pregnant! I have shrunk there and other places and am very careful about my form when I do the exercises (I am a dance teacher so good form makes sense to me!) I am currently doing the Basic Workout Plus (I have the DVD and the book. I haven't been doing the walking workout yet (should I be doing this after the Basic Workout or on another day?)

Sorry for the plethora of questions, but you asked! (wink)

    LOL!

How often are you doing BWO+? How is your eating overall?

My eating habits are good. I typically consume between 1300-1600 calories a day. I eat a variety of foods, but in small/medium sized portions. I don't binge or starve myself. Try to eat a variety of veggies everyday. I don't go crazy on chips or desserts or fried foods and I try to eat everything in moderation. I drink a glass of wine a night, but don't go crazy on that either. Any ideas are appreciated!

I have asthma and a constant post nasal drip that drives me crazy! Think that might be related? I wish t-tapp could help with that!

    Thanks again for your feedback!

Lauren, this may blow your mind, but I think you need to eat a bit more! Dr. Diana Schwarzbein talks of the need to eat enough good nutrients so the metabolism will heal. I had metabolic syndrome and couldn't lose a single inch or pound before T-Tapp! T-Tapp helped tremendously, but my belly was certainly stubborn. However, Dr. S explains how there is a healing process that needs to take place and whether we like it or not, it often involves some ups and downs in the belly department. I watched it happen especially as I've healed over the past year, even more in the past 6 months. I'd go from no muffin to a muffin, muffin melts some, gained again, etc. It's frustrating sometimes but now that it's more down than up, and I feel better, I can say it's worth it!

I would consider 1600 a minimum. I honestly don't count calories or grams because it stresses me out. I try to eat balanced as Schwarzbein says (enough protein/good carbs/good fats/non-starchy veggies). Here is her website, and there is a lot of info there (you do not have to do her testing to get benefit from her program, and you can usually get her books through the library if you want to check it out first):

Since really adding adequate fats the past 6 months I have noticed my adrenals healing and more reshaping.

One last thought--I realized, hindsight, that I started reshaping more as I released some emotional issues. I didn't set out to get thinner by releasing the emotional stuff! But it definitely had a part in it. That might not be your problem at all, but I throw that out since it has been a part of my journey.

Oh, and btw--since starting GAPS (Gut And Psychology Syndrome) for two of my dds, which cuts out all grains and most starchy veggies, my post-nasal drip I've had since I was a kid is practically GONE! It's been an adjustment, especially for a family the size of mine, but the health benefits we've gained have made it worth it!

We've added a little potatoes back in for some of us, and beans. I notice too much coconut flour baked goods gets my nose running again, so I have to be moderate there. But I hardly ever have to clear my throat like I used to!

    HUGS to you! HTH!
