Couple of things...sleeping and skin brushing....
Hello!
I'm back again!
I got to thinking (it's addictive, this T-Tapp thing!!!), and wondered if anybody knew the best way to sleep....I don't expect muscle activation, but I'm thinking some positions have to be better than others
for optimal breathing and posture? I can't sleep on my back, since my lower back starts to throb after awhile (I think I have a fat roll that presses on some blood vessel, since I didn't use to have this problem when I was a "normal" weight).
Also, this morning while skin brushing, I actually felt light-headed. Too many toxins released, or something else?
Thoughts and suggestions on either of these topics welcome!
Hope you have a fantastic day!

I find I sleep better on my back only because my shoulders roll forward when I sleep on my side. But my back likes it better when I sleep on my side. These days though, since T-Tapp I tend to sleep like a rock, regardless of the position.
I'd guess you are releasing toxins with your brushing, but it's just a guess.......

I sleep on my side, but I put a pillow between my legs. I even have thought of getting one of those body pillows to help me stay in a good position. When I have a good pillow, that helps me keep my neck at the right level without straining my shoulders. I need to replace mine soon!
And yes, I would imagine maybe you're releasing toxins. Had you eaten anything yet? Do you ever have problems with low blood sugar?

Hey, Cbuffy and Trisch!
Thanks for the quick response! I suppose I could simplify and post everything in the "six weeks" thread....I'll get the hang of this soon!
I appreciate the thoughts you had on both the sleeping position and the brushing. Where do you find a pillow the right size for between your knees, Trisch?
And I had not eaten anything yet. I like to brush and shower first thing in the morning. I'm on day 32 of a 40 day doctor-supervised juice fast, and surprisingly, there's plenty of detoxing still happening (I'm told the detox phase usually ends at about day 21)....although this morning was the first time I'd had lightheadedness with the brushing....strange.
LOVE the skin brushing! My lower legs don't look dry and scaly anymore, after just two weeks! Even the soles of my feet are less cracked and dry-looking! Although I have so many "target areas," I usually just pick one or two each morning, and try to rotate it around....sigh! Also to make sure I don't knock too many toxins loose at once...
Trisch, your story is such an inspiration! I'm about a size 22 now, and looking to get to a healthy size....whatever that will be, I'll wait and see! I so appreciate your sharing your story!

I forgot you were on the juice fast--I would definitely say it's detox then. I'm not an expert on dealing with that, and although it means spreading it out (and not always showering after), maybe do upper body before shower, then lower body parts as you visit the restroom throughout the day? Just a thought!
Right now I'm just using my "old" pillow for my knees! I did have another thought--if you prefer sleeping on your back, putting a pillow under your knees will help body alignment and not put so much pressure on your back. Yeah, I remember when sometimes I wanted to be on my back, but my "rolls" were not strategically placed!
That's great that you're already seeing the skin brushing benefits! And good idea to "rotate parts"!
You're a success story in progress, Brooke! Keep track of all the "little things you can't measure" as you go along in your journey! I just love that T-Tapp didn't just make me smaller--it has made me healthier and more confident and I've gained sooooo many good friends along the way!
Don't forget pictures so someday YOU can inspire others, too! HUGS!

Trisch!!!!
Hugs back at you, sweetie! You sure seem to have the gift of encouragement! I am journaling my weight loss journey in one particular notebook, so I do have my starting points, my "aha" moments, my struggles and successes all written down, to help me keep on when things get frustrating. I long ago stopped focusing much on scale numbers...and celebrated each healthy choice. It made a big difference in my overall attitude....
Wow....pictures? That's hard for me...I have not always been big.....but I've had some taken, and will from time to time, to measure progress. I'll keep remembering how inspirational YOUR pictures are....maybe that will help!
Blessings to you, sweetie! You're beautiful, inside and out!

Awww! Thank you for your sweet words!
Oh, I hear you on the pictures! I wish now I had more of that first year. I realized the same thing you said--I was so encouraged by others' pictures, so maybe someday mine would encourage others, too!
And yes, I had my doubts and sometimes wondered if it might take 10 years!
I would tell myself that I didn't have to show anyone if I didn't want to. Of course, here, I felt quite safe to do so and everyone has always been so encouraging, sometimes pointing out things *I* didn't notice! Donna on the 6 Weeks thread is good at putting the pics side by side so you can really see the difference!
Blessings to you, too! {{{MORE HUGS!}}}

Brooke, I remember wondering this same thing when I started T-Tapping. And wondering if I did Organs in Place before bed, should I hold everything in and jump in bed and lay still so it wouldn't all fall back out? LOL! Sleep how you're comfortable (but I did and still do start out on my back to let gravity assist the tummy)!

LOL, Charlotte! I would try that, but the jumping in my high bed would probably jiggle all my organs back out of place.
