    Question light headed during workout

Lately as I am doing the Total workout, I've noticed that I'm light headed when coming up from bending over and rocking. It doesn't start happening until about half way through the workout. I tend to have low blood sugar so I'm wondering if, considering how Hoe Downs drop blood sugar, maybe that's the problem.

Would it help to have a little glass of grape juice or something to kick up my sugar midway through the workout or would something else be better?

Apple-eat a bit of apple. That would be less a sugar rush than grape juice (thinking of the fiber in the apple) and not quite as much natural sugar, too.

Teresa has shared that somewhere--either in my notes from Safety Harbor Retreat or her posts here!

    HTH!

Or eat something more balanced with protein and good fat and carb before the workout (nut butter with apple is a good idea, or cheese and apple/carrot). I cannot do my workout until after dinner, cannot do it before dinner after I get home even after a good wholesome balance snack.

Great food advise everyone. See if that helps.

Just a little tip for the head rocks which can be found in Teresa's book "Fit and Fabulous in 15 Minutes"....is on page 95. When ready to do the head rocks, just focus on releasing any tension in your neck and shoulders (especially in the traps). Feel the gravitational pull of your head relax and release any muscle tension. Gently rock the head as well.

Sarah, I had a girl in one of my classes that went lightheaded during the WO. She started bringing a bottle of Sprite/7UP with her just to pump up her sugar levels and that worked for her.
    She doesn't need it anymore.

I agree, I need to wait until after a good lunch to work out! My healthy dessert lately has been 3-4 dates with a handful of almonds. Body needs that fuel!

I have always worked out before breakfast so I guess I'll start doing it after. It makes sense... Thanks for all the advise.
