Default How long did it take you?

I just watched the 2nd Instructional dvd...wow! It looks hard! I was wondering how long is usually spent on it before moving to the TWO. As I've read the threads I've seen that many of you take more water breaks, or pause the dvd to kick out or whatever. In working out, I've always thought of taking extra breaks as "cheating". How do I know I'm ready for the Bootcamp (since I would like to do that) if I can't go straight through with the dvd? I hope that makes sense! If I'm taking extra water breaks or have to pause for a few moments, does that mean that I'm not ready for bootcamp?

I'm hoping to start the 2nd Instructional sometime next week. Since it is longer than the first one, should that be done EOD? Then when I feel I've got that down, can I move onto the bootcamp?

    Thanks!

If it's any consolation, Alice, my first bootcamp with TWO I could only make it through Runner's Stretch--and that with extra water breaks!

You could either alternate Instructional 1 and 2, or yes, do it EOD. I definitely should have spent more time on Instructional 2 myself! (I am now! LOL!)

I would at least go 2 weeks, EOD. Remember, you are laying a foundation here. Bootcamps are nice, but really, optional compared to the Instructionals.

And believe you me, extra water breaks are not "cheating"! Senior Fit has a kick out and water break after every move--and beautiful Berei still toned up and looks great! And she even said, "You'll need them!" when Teresa was explaining that at Safety Harbor! LOL!

So, in answer to your question, no, no one expects you to go straight through TWO with only the allowed water breaks to do a bootcamp! If you lose form due to fatigue, that will not help you! Besides, if that were the criteria, I still couldn't do a bootcamp after nearly 4 1/2 years!

I just did a video for my mentor, and I did Lunges through Runner's Stretch, plus LawnMowers, only 4 reps each and yes, I took water breaks and LOTS of kick-outs! Even between the different sets of balance!

    So, see? It's not cheating!

    Hope that encourages you!

Yes, that's very encouraging!! Thanks for the suggestion on the time table as well. I'll not allow myself to do bootcamp till at least 2 weeks of EOD of #2. I'm also excited to do Thread The Needle...as it targets my trouble spots!

I saw a review on the book at Amazon and someone said it was a boring workout...goodness! Boring is NOT the word that comes to mind. I'm too busy thinking of form to let any other thought even enter my mind for an instant!!

Well, they very well might not have been engaged! LOL!

Or perhaps there one of those people who need variety, and that's fine...but I say get the foundation with T-Tapp first!

I had a lady come to the house today to work out with me, and she likes to do a stepping class, does something else with her dh and then T-Tapp with me. She wants to do more T-Tapp, but she's the kind of person that likes a variety of workouts. She is also a massage therapist, and she really believes the ribs up/shoulders back is saving her! In her work she's working on people and more shoulders forward, so every chance away from work she gets, she's thinking T-tapp alignment! She also takes that into her other workouts. She's a dream "client"!

So, all that to say, the person writing the review probably was honest...but it also might tell us they never found the forums! LOL!

Oh, one more thing--don't get hung up on having to do a bootcamp for 14 days. I did 3 longer bootcamps--10 days of BWO+ with the book (which was like a full workout--took me 1 1/2 hours! LOLOL!), 12 days TWO through Runner's Stretch, and 14 days of TWO. Those were within my first year of T-Tapp. I honestly lost the least with the 14 day bootcamp and it was the last of the three, 7 months after starting T-Tapp!

Since then, I think I did one 5 day Tempo Arms bootcamp and maybe 3 or 4 four day MORE bootcamps and got way more out of the shorter ones! Just a FYI!

It's not cheating to take extra breaks but I will admit, I didn't. HA-HA I don't often recommend that people follow the plan I did when I started T-Tapp, but I will share since you asked.

I did Instruc #1 for 2-3 days, then added Instruc #2 for 2-3 days. I don't remember if I did them together or not, but I know I was doing Beginner rehab within a week. It's much, much better for you to stick with the instructionals longer than that, but for me, I wanted to do the TWO sooner than later, so I did. HOWEVER, I did revisit the instructionals often...usually when I invited a friend over to get her started! I also stuck with beginner rehab 3 times per week exclusively for 6+ months. And I attended an all day clinic with Kirsten 6 weeks after starting.

I was not in shape when I started and I didn't have great stamina. I was just determined to muscle through. I also did not have any injuries or limitations.

I love to see people doing the TWO when they are able!

Honestly, take your time and learn the instructionals well! YOU WILL have GREAT results while doing the instructionals. Don't worry about a bootcamp until you can complete the TWO. Just keep reading and asking questions about each movement. If a movement feels easy then you are likely doing it wrong :/ I like to say each movement is a mini workout within the workout LOL

For now, when you start Inst 2, alternate it with inst 1 with 1 day off a week. That will give you 3 TWO in a week. Also you can cut reps to 4 and slowly build up to 8 if you need too. Find what works best for you.

Going to sleep might be boring to little kids, but it is important and beneficial. To me, T-tapping is just as important as having a good sleep. I wonder if that person really did the exercise, as if you actually do it, even you are not activating right, you can feel the effect and boring is definitely not the word. It might be "how in the world can I do this?". Or "Oh mine, I did not know I have this muscle ever in my life."

So I could do #1 on Monday, #2 on Tuesday and take a break on Wednesday...and then repeat?

I think what Michelle meant was more like:
    M-I #1
    T-I #2
    W-I #1
    Th-I #2
    F- I #1
    Sa-I #2
    Su- Off

But you can do however you want, especially if you need more breaks. I couldn't have followed the above when I started.

    HTH!
