Default Coconut Oil - Side Effects?

So, I took 3 tablespoons of CO yesterday and I could really tell a difference in my appetite! I didn't have one! However, I had some MAJOR digestive issues yesterday and am thinking it could have been the CO. Has anyone else had nausea/diarrhea after ingesting CO?

    Thanks!

Yah, 3 T was probably too much to start. I have heard to start with 1 and work up... I still can't even do 2T yet. But it really does make me feel good!

It kills the wee beasties, so it makes sense your body would have diarrhea to get it OUT of the body as they die off.

I'd go a little slower as suggested. HTH

Yes, Pamela's right! It kills the pathogenic bacteria in your gut, so die-off can be nasty!

On the flip side, it's a great fat and fat helps satisfies you so you don't keep eating!

Peggy, I'll eat it any way I can! Especially if it's Nutiva or Garden of Life brands....

So, this kills off the "bad guy" bacteria in the gut? I've been using CO in cooking, and when I was eating bread I would use it instead of butter. I've put it in smoothies at times, but not lately. So, I'm probably not getting enough on a daily basis, so I might have to start eating it from the jar.
