    Default new here and questions

I ordered my first T-tapp disc in late 2008 or early 2009 I think, but have never really done much with it until this past week. I started on Tuesday and was really only able to do the PBS and then watched the rest and got an idea of what it was all like...
Wednesday was a little better.. .did PBS and the first part of Plies... each day I've been able to do just a little bit more than the day before.

I fast forwarded to the end of BWO+ and watched the hoedowns coz I was dying to know what they were I keep seeing them mentioned. So, I have been doing sets of 8 of them when I am waiting on something in the kitchen or just standing around.
One thing I noticed though when I do the hoe downs is that my hip pops every single time I go out on the left side. it doesnt hurt, but is it okay to do that even if its popping?

Also, when I did the Instructional #1 today, I made it to the first part of the Ttapp twist before I had to quit. My legs were so sore and the muscles were shaking... I don't want to quit to quickly, but am I right in stopping when it gets too hard?

I have so very much to lose and I am so tired of being over weight.
I signed up for Charlottes 60 virtual coaching thing and activated that today I can hardly wait to get 60 days down the line and see where I am at!

Charlotte mentions the MORE workout on her schedule, but I don't own that one yet and I seem to be able to do the instructional #1 okay... though I am having to build up to it. Should I still look at getting MORE even if I don't have any rehabilitative needs? or limitations?

Also, I am taking the Alfalfa every day, and I own the skin brush but lost the paper on it, so I suppose with as much as I have to lose, I look for the instructions on how to use the brush. Any ideas on where to look without having to buy the whole set again?

I measured yesterday and wrote it all down, so I don't plan to measure again for 2 wks.

Thanks so much for this board and all the encouragement it offers! YES I CAN!!!

    Hello, Jennifer!

I'm not a trainer, and a newbie here too. But I think I can give some advice that I learned here from our nice ladies and used myself:
    1. If you are not able to do all the reps - cut them down to 4 or 6, BUT do the equal amount of reps for each side, AND from time to time try to change 'starting' sides, i.e. one day start from the left, the other from the right.
    2. You can divide the w/o to parts, but ALWAYS do PBS in the begining. If I'm not mistaken the rule is "Do PBS, if you have a rest more than 20 minutes between exercises".
    3. Never give your muscles a rest during the move! Your muscles can rest only during waterbrakes. (I try not forget about it myself )
    4. As for Brushing, I would recommend to read all the threads that come up when you use the search function of this site. Or, you may try to look some video advices on YouTube. They come up, when you type in "Skin brushing". Unfortunately I didn't save a link where I read full info about brushing here. If I find saved info I will copy past it here. The main ule for brushing is to do it upwards or towards you heart. Start with your legs, hands then the body, but always towards the heart.

    5. Read the forum. You will find great support here. Ask questions.

Hope to help, while others celebrating Our beloved trainers will give you more advice. But remember YOU CAN, and everyone of us CAN too. Just don't give up!

    Victoria.

Just wanted to add Welcome. Stick with it and you will see the benefits! I haven't lost a lot of weight using T-tapp but I certainly lost a lot of inches. I also sleep better at night, more regular, my big bubble butt lifted and looks much better. And I just feel better when I tapp regularly. Can't wait to hear the success you are having.

Actually, with Teresa's brushing sequence, you start with the palms of your hands. Hands, arms, chest, feet, legs, abdomen.

Welcome, Jennifer! You're doing good... just go to your max with good form as much as you understand it (that changes as you learn and as your muscles get stronger). I don't think the popping is anything to be concerned about as long as there's no pain associated with it. Victoria passed along good advice, and I'm a trainer will offer their expertise as well if your questions still need answers. Most of all, have fun on the journey, and stick around here for support. It has kept many of us consistent over the weeks and months.

Started T-Tapp in July 2010 after searching for a good strengthening/stretching/flexibility workout. I think I found it!

You should be able to email the office and see if they can't send you out a new copy of the brushing instructions.

Do not be confused, I am NOT a trainer just someone who has been around for over 11 years and talks too much!

Hopefully one of the many Certified T-Tapp Trainers will be along shortly, with the most accurate information.

    Welcome, Jennifer!

You've gotten great advice! Focus on max muscle activation, whether that's 2 reps or 8! Better to do fewer reps and really work those muscles than breeze through 8 and not really get the benefit!

Each move you should be pushing/pulling those arms as if through thick mud. When you have those thumbs in the "thumb holders" of your hips for PBS, really push in. On Jazz Twist, really push that back thumb to help you get muscle activation.

Read all the form tips you can--the Must Read Threads has a lot as well as the book, and anything by Michelle (monica213), Kirsten (brngckn), Kayla (bevibrant), Charlotte (fruitvine) or Kiona is really good! Oh, and Elizabeth Platt--she goes by Insideout.

Don't feel overwhelmed--it is progressive and you'll be able to "take in more" as you get more familiar with everything!

HUGS to you! Welcome to the T-Tapp Family!
