Pamela: I can see how your approach would work better than counting seconds.

Wendy: Thanks for that heads up! And affordable too...

Looking forward to incorporating this method into my routine on my off days. Ive tried it twice last month and liked it, although I could only do 2 reps.

    Thank you, ladies.

You're welcome, Michelle! Wendy, thank you for that link; it's something to get one day.

I have to say this method ROCKS! My arms are toned and have definition. I've had to amp up to skin brushing to twice daily so my skin keeps up and amp up my PEO's, too.

I have so much more jewelry now; my rings from 15 years ago fit again; this method of eating has helped greatly with my hormones (Ori explains why it's anti-estrogenic in some detail in The Warrior Diet, but has another book devoted to that topic I'll have to look into) as my cycle was right on time AND with bloating and inflammation.

I've got to EFT on the dark chocolate I've been having since going to an awesome fruit/veggie/lunch/ice cream/preserves farm in Pasco last week as I don't eat this much candy and I realize that since, as a Type 3, I do nothing small, it's always BIG, that I need to EFT and do Healing Codes on proper proportions to this area of my life.

I've so much more extra time now, too, as these workouts are so much more effective and enjoyable that it's tough to make myself not do too much. DS and I are getting back into the good habit of quiet time (not easy for a T3) and reading and playing/being outside. YES!!

Thanks for posting about this Pamela. I had read about PACE (I think that is what Dr. Mercola called it) and tried it once with walking/running and was incredibly sore for several days. I like the idea of using it for a variety of types of exercise. I will be heading to the PNW on Tuesday and can use my moms exercise bike to try it out. I found a free app for it too. I might even be able to do some sprints when we are on Sucia Is. in the San Juans. Not sure what I could do on the boat...even HD's might be hard there unless I do it on the top of the boat for all to see! lol Since I wont be able to eat exactly the same as I do here at home, I may try the warrior diet way of eating too. Especially on the boat.

Thanks for the link and updates, Pamela. I have been following the Paleo diet for a couple of weeks and am shocked that I don't miss grains and dairy! I've lost a few inches and pounds, but still have a lot of toning to do, especially in my midsection. My library has this book, so I'll check it out. I don't have any aerobic equipment, so I may just run/walk outside. It is similar to the Paleo workout in terms of the high/low intensity intervals. The sleeping well thing would be really great (although that depends a lot on my youngest's nursing needs at night)! It would also be fantastic to get my hormones normalized--currently dealing with adrenal fatigue (I'm sure my whacked out cortisol is contributing to the belly), and long periods that are mostly just spotting with two extremely heavy days.

Hey Pamela, just wanted to update. I've been doing tabata workouts but this morning have upped it to 2 8-round sets. I ran the first set, walked slow for 3-4 minutes to recover, then speed-walked the second set on the treadmill. I plan on working up to doing 3, maybe 4 sets. I may do a running set, walking set, another run and so forth. After the treadmill I've been lifting some weights for upper body, & doing some butt exercises in the same tabata pattern (usually 2 sets so far). My workout today was under 35 minutes but I was absolutely pouring sweat.

I'm also starting back on the Warrior Diet officially today. I'd love to know how your eating pattern goes for a typical day/week. I don't think I'll structure it in the phases like in the book, but I'm sure I will naturally fall into a low carb/high carb/high fat kind of pattern with the evening meal. I do need to get some nuts to have with some of my evening meals.

Meredith, it really varies for me food-wise. I've been eating a lot of fresh raspberries as we harvest (a cup maybe?) as I go, but I'm never hungry in the a.m. and just don't push it.

I take my supplements for my blood disorder and vitamins/minerals. I have decaf organic coffee, sometimes with pure cream.

I try and do the Tabata on my exercise bike for at least a few reps to get my fat burning going. I usually at least do the PBS first, as nothing gets us working more efficiently that Teresa.

I don't work out daily, but I do use 8 lb weights for arms and 5 lb for ankles for my floor exercises.

I'll eat if/when I get hungry and that is usually a Tablespoon of sunflower butter or sesame butter. Sometimes, it's a serving of Tuna or Salmon and some veggies; it really depends on the day.

If I'm hungry at night (and usually am) I eat a lot of good quality protein and veggies. I stay away from starch unless it's yams with butter and salt (yum) and sometimes some oven fries Greek style (oregano, lemon and salt).

I eat Feta (everything's betta with you've got Fetta! ) creamy swiss, mozzarella and havarti and gouda at times and keep some snack sized cheese with when doing errands.

If we eat at Wendy's or Jack in the Box, we get the stackers or Jumbo Jack without the bun and I don't like ketchup without a lot of mayo, so mine's without the ketchup (too sweet). I don't eat fries, but have a side salad if hungry enough during the day. If it's night, I almost always have a big salad before eating the protein and veggies.

I also make egg drop soup that is wonderful. I use either beef broth or miso soup base, but saute vegetables like thinly sliced cabbage and when it's very tender in the olive oil, I add the liquid and soup base and cook it enough to be a little more tender, I whisk a bunch of eggs (at least a dozen) and whisk it into the soup and when the eggs are cooked enough, take it off the stove and serve it with some hot sauce added to mine. I've eaten as many as 6 large bowls of that soup at a time and love it and then next day not gain an ounce and even lower the weight I've released.

After the soup I'll eat a steak or burgers, or tuna, etc.... whatever the protein is and the salad and veggies.

HTH. I'm just so ecclectic and not really embedded in patterns, which is totally my Type 3 nature. so it's kinda hard to gauge.

I just listen to my body and my body is honest with me when I'm consistent about doing my 5 minute energy routine.

Oh, and I always, always, ALWAYS, take Cinnamon if I have anything with starch or sweet so I don't gain weight from that treat and uncontrolled blood sugar/insulin response.

I've been taking Cinnamon with my meals that have veggies now and have released another 5 pounds this past week! I have to force myself to not go through the motions of exercise daily, but to wait and wait a few days in between and when I work out, to do it with total focus and seriousness the Tabata method (exercise bike and Kettle Bells). And WOW.

Last night I finished the evening off with a huge Mexican salad and a large slice of the Cowboy Pizza with thin crust and broke down the barrier to the next increment below. I was at 151 for a long time and now I'm in the 140's again!

I fit comfortably into size 4 jeans. My legs and arms and abdomen are toned. AND I wear a (first time I can remember) SMALL BELT that goes around my hip hugger jeans!! That's right! I figured I'd need a large to go around my Jeans and it was too big. Went to medium. Too big! And then in total disbelief I tried on the small in my perfect chroma and textures and metals and it fits to perfection.

This is awesome! I've not eaten so well in years. I work out LESS and finally, finally, FINALLY my body is in sync with the inner me.

    WOOHOO!!!!!
