When I used to take a water aerobix class we used to do something similar. I think the instructor called it "interval training"...we would jog as hard as possible for 30 seconds, then go very slow for about a minute. I don't think we did 8 cycles of it, though.

I had forgotten about this since it was so long ago. Thanks for "jogging" my memory (oooh, bad pun!)

    Nanci, that's cute!

With Tabata, it's 20 seconds on intensively (but carefully) and 10 seconds rest and you know, it really works and works FAST. Combined with Ori Hofmekler's Warrior Method, the weight just was totally released. I had to do the emotional clearing of grief as well and my Dr. for the baby says how I got pregnant was the best way possible; to release all that weight and grief and make my body strong and emotionally to protect and strengthen myself. I'm so glad I'm a Type 3 that never gives up and enjoys learning.

Ok, this makes me think I'm a Type 3

Can you explain the part about "almost" going to your max (if I am understanding it correctly)?

You need to be very careful to not harm your muscles and overdo. So going to almost the most you can do is important to build not only endurance, but strength.

I'm not sure you can use the Tabata method and T-Tapp at the same time. T-Tapp is awesome and builds so much strength and really pumps the lymph better than anything else out there, in my opinion and I am addicted to research.

I use Tabata with floor exercises and weights and when not pregnant, kettlebells. I'd use T-TAPP as my go-to take care of my wonderful body workout 2 to 3 times a week and add the Tabata in once or twice a week with meaningful training and toning workouts.

If you can go to page one and look at that article, which I keep on hand for after this little one is born, it really helped me out but I had to read it several times for it to click for me, but that's my method, usually.

Also, Ori's book is great. I released over 60 pounds and have a wonderful pregnancy thanks to the good shape I got into prior to conception and I'm every so grateful.

I hope this helps and WELCOME!

    keepitsimple-
For awhile I was doing tabata every 3 days, and only on off days from TTapp. Like Pamela said, it would be too much to do it on the same day, if that's what you meant.

I need to get back into it. Thanks for the reminder.

When I started, I only did 2 cycles of the 20 sec on/10 rest, then every 3rd day would add another cycle up to a max of 8 cycles. I found this progression on another site, and it made sense to work up to 8 cycles. It doesn't sound very hard, but it is. And the recommendation for taking 2 days off in between came from another website too. It shows the intensity! Less is more with Tabatas, too

    Red face

Pamela wonderful results! I started a version of the warrior diet 3 days ago & have lost 3 pds! Also using mindful eating. I think your intuitive approach to stating your releasing weight is much healthier way to view weight issues. I am going to apply it. Thanks for sharing!
