So I got asked to share my success story, and I thought I might as well post it here:
I started this T-Tapp journey in the “obese” category based on my weight and height. I have always been “big boned” and larger than my friends, but after the birth of my second child and my change in life from being an active teacher to a freelance writer who spends the vast majority of my time sitting on my tush, the pounds and inches just kept on coming.
I decided to start running and even ran my first 5k in the summer of 2010. While running was making a little difference in how healthy I felt overall, I still wasn’t fitting into my clothes or losing any weight the way I wanted. I also couldn’t run daily. When I got runner’s knee because of my poorly trained muscles, I started looking for a strengthening program that was short that I could do on non-running days. A friend introduced me to T-Tapp through facebook. This was in the fall of 2010.
I admit, I was a skeptic. I spent hours on the website, and decided it was too good to be true. “Lose up to 2 Sizes in 4 Weeks with 15 Minutes a Day” – yeah right!
SO, I went on a hunt. I googled every keyword phrase I could think of to find someone who would tell me that T-Tapp was a scam and did not work. All I found was people who had had amazing success, like our own Trisch and Charlotte. The only people I found who claimed “it doesn’t work” are people who didn’t stay consistent.
So, for my 30th birthday in January of 2011, following a very traumatic pregnancy loss and increased inches and pounds as a result, I asked my husband for the DVD as my present.
Getting started took some time because of schedules and I wanted to start out with a bootcamp. My goal was to do a 14-day bootcamp of Instructional 1. After Day 5 I was completely physically and emotionally spent. I had to take two days off, but I listened to my body and did so.
Imagine my surprise when measuring day rolled around. After 7 days and just 5 20-minute workouts, I had lost 6 ¾ inches! That inspired me to keep going!
In my first 6 weeks doing T-Tapp, aiming for five to six days per week of the 15-minute program, I have lost over 40 inches, and that number includes any small gains I have had from week to week. According to the tailor’s measurement chart I have lost two sizes, and according to my own clothing I have lost at least one.
By far my favorite part of this journey so far would have to be on vacation. I took T-Tapp with me, but didn’t have time to exercise every day. We also ate like one eats on vacation – way too much junk! When I measured afterwards, I didn’t lose anything, but I completely maintained all of my previous losses! I was thrilled!
In addition to the inches lost, I have gained so much more. I can now chase my kids when playing tag without getting winded, something a year of running didn’t do for me. I have better energy, my problems with acne have started to go away, and I have weathered two rounds of sickness in my home without catching the germs.
People have asked if I have dieted, and the true answer is no. I have still been baking for my husband and enjoying the fruits of my labors in that regard whenever I feel like it. I have made one eating change, and that is giving up soda except on rare occasions, so that may attest to some of my inch loss, but I attribute it mostly to T-Tapp! Here’s to the next 40 inches!
