7 Day Diet
Has any one tried this diet & if so does it work ? I just read something about it and saw something about it on t.v. and the say it really works ! I am sooo tired of buying diet books !

I just googled "7 Day diet" and the first one I found sounded very much like the old Cabbage Soup Diet. I've done this before, many years ago. It didn't work very well for me; I can't honestly remember. I may have lost a few pounds, but if I did, they came right back. I liked the soup, and have made it subsequently just because it's good (full of good veggies), but the restrictions on the other days can be problematic if you have a family or a social life (or allergies, food sensitivities, etc.). Plus, it isn't really healthy to follow that diet long term. I think I read that if you wish to repeat it (assuming you lost weight and need to lose more), you need to wait a week or two.

Margie that isn't the one, this one I heard about is from france and maybe I have the name wrong.But there are phases of the diet and I saw something on GMA and they said you can lose about 13 lbs a week. I guess I should know what I'm talking about befor I post but I was sure that was the name...Btw its brand new , just came over...

Tuesday
Eat all of the vegetables (and vegetable soup) that you wish.
Wednesday
A combination of Monday & Tuesday (i.e. fruit – except bananas, juices, vegetables, vegetable soups).
Thursday
Eat 5 bananas and drink 5 glasses of whole milk. Some versions say 8 bananas and 4 glass of milk.
Friday
Eat 4 steaks of meat (3 ounces each – beef/chicken/fish) with unlimited green vegetables.
Saturday
Eat 4 steaks of meat (3 ounces each – beef/chicken/fish) with unlimited green vegetables.
Sunday
Eat 4 steaks of meat (3 ounces each – beef/chicken/fish) with unlimited green vegetables.

No , I think that is the cabbage soup diet...I did a search using new french diet and I got ducan...Have you heard of this ? They say its why the french stay thin..I wish I had not of forgotten----- but I think this is it...

Yup, thats it ! I remember the oat bran and the phases of the diet.. I guess its a really great diet and works fast ! I wonder if anyone has gone on it and can tell us about it first hand ..I would like to lose 10 by summer (lol) They said on the am tv show that I was watching that Kate midleton and her mom are on the diet because of the wedding. I might buy the book and go on the diet and see if it works...Maybe ----I'm still thinking..

I did this diet 6 months ago and not only lost 4 pounds, but was able to keep those pounds off for good 6 months.. (that reminds me it is time to do it again!!)
This diet is very detoxifying, i lost a lot of cellulite and lost fat from place where I have never lost from inspite of repeated exercises such as inner knee area... Since I have less to loose, even 4 pounds was good for me... And the bumps in my inner knee will remain at bay only if i am exercising very regularly which you know is not possible...
This diet did wonders for me and definately recommend it...

Hi there, I could give you some information about the Dukan diet because it was very famous around here for the past 2 years. I personally tried it and had a lot of friends/family who did so.
The results were amazing in the beginning! And this was the first diet plan I could ever follow for long time - a few months or so. It restricts carbohydrates (including all fruit) and fats (including olive and other oils). It recommends non fat diary products only. It is easy to follow in the summer, because of all types of green veggies but hard during the winter (I personally prefer season fruit and veggies and had to eat just yogurt and meat during winter time). It sound very reasonable when I was reading the book and I tried to be really consistent. The diet has 4 stages. The first one is where you have to eat proteins only for up to 7 or so days. Then you introduce some veggies and alternate the days - veggies+protein with proteins only until you reach your goal. Then you start eating some bread, lentils and a day of full meal. The 4th phase is to have a protein day every week of your life. It sounded so doable. But the reality for me was different.
What happened exactly was: Most of my colleagues tried it. My mother and sister lost maybe 20-30 pounds easily. I lost maybe 10 for several times - they went off and back for several times! Whenever I ate a a french fry or a piece of chocolate they came back immediately. At one moment I just stooped losing anything and felt terrible, craving for fruits, potatoes and lentils. But I missed the fruits mostly. I could never reach phase 3 because I could not reach any closer to my goal - to lose 15-20 pounds max. This turned into cheating now and then which made things worse.
Then I moved in with my boyfriend and we lost control of our eating at all. It resulted in gaining back at least twice the pounds I'd lost. Just a few months later I was heavier than ever! I decided to start it again. This time we were doing it with my bf. After a month or so he was complaining that he was always hungry and felt really miserable. We did lose some weight but it eventually came back when we decided to give up finally. I was craving fruits again so much that I didn't even wanted to hear about doing it again!
Then some time passed and I saw some pictures of myself. It was worse than ever. Than I found T-tapp. All the rest is a history now.
Let me just say that all the people I knew were in this diet all of them got the weight back. It has fast results but later you pay for this. Another problem I heard about was that it might cause severe kidney problems. Actually some people said the diet was the reason for that, other claimed that it was just cleaning the kidneys and only made people aware of the future problems etc. But it is true that Dukan's diet was broadly discussed here for several months or an year. You could see most of our tv persons looking slimmer and better all at once. But not anymore actually

Daisy, thanks for being honest and I really feel that you were. I guess I wanted to hear only good things , since it works so fast...Well the old saying fits in this, If it sounds to good to be true ______! Saves me some bucks because I was ready to buy the book..But I didn't know that it has been here for a couple of years, I thought it was a brand new diet !!
