    Default leptin & pcos

I was wondering would mastering leptin be a good diet for pcos? or schwarzbein? right now i'm all out of whack, and my body feels confused, and right when I think I know what i'm doing, my body says differently. I'm exhausted, lucky to exercise 2x a week.

I would so love some help here please.

Brenna, I'm not as familiar with Mastering Leptin. I did try it a few years ago, but my problem was I couldn't eat enough food during just the meals, and I pushed myself too much while cutting out snacks (and inadvertently cutting my food intake too much) and had an adrenal crash. I'm not blaming ML, just realized it wasn't for me, at least not at that time.

When I was doing SB a year ago, I really started feeling better. I did well until my mom unexpectedly died, and am just now emotionally ready to get back to it. SB works towards balancing insulin and healing the adrenals, so I would think it would be helpful. Sounds like your adrenals are exhausted. You may need to just get some moves in each day (PBS, TTT stretch) for now or do MORE Chair, if you have it.

I hope that is helpful to you--I don't have PCOS, although I've had whacked out hormones every since I hit puberty 35 years ago. I've found balance with progesterone and testosterone supplementation and Teresa's alfalfa. I feel better now hormonally than I did in my 20s!

    HUGS to you!

yes, pcos is sort or like premenopause until menopause, lol. its really difficult. when I was 15, I weighed 184, and I lost 20 pounds over summer vacation while working at the local library, and during the rest of the 9 months I steadily went down to 135.

but then I got to college, and I got these huge sugar cravings where I'd binge. I gained 40 # over from 17 to 19, although cuz I kept on exercising, and I did core work moste people might think I only gained 10 or 15#. It became uncontrollable after I had my twins. it feels like pcos and adrnal fatigue. I took some women-to-women vitamins this afternoon and I felt much more energetic. so I'll see if I can remember to take them at least 1x daily and see how it goes.

I can't eat 5-6 x daily. I will feel bloated all day long. trust me - I know from being on the breastfeeding diet where lll has u eating 5 medium meals and a gallon of water everyday. when i walked I could feel and hear the water shaking in my stomach. it was like a sea storm in a bottle or something.

yes, that I can't do. I know with ml, if your body isn't healthy enough, then you should have 4 meals daily every 4 hours.

    but thanx for the input.

Well, it sounds like you have a good grasp of what works for you. I think if you kept your nutrients balanced (like Schwarzbein advocates--and I think ML does, too?) you'd be fine. I have 3 meals but then eat the 2 snacks. Sometimes I need a bedtime one, too, I can tell by my blood sugar, how I feel, etc. That's not an all the time thing, though.

I actually am having a hard time eating enough at both meals and snacks. I got really sick last fall before our vacation, and I feel like my stomach has really shrunk---which could be a good thing except I can't eat enough at a time to get enough nutrients. Plus when I miss my mom you can guess I'm not eating veggies and wholesome foods. But it's a process and I'll get through it--I did before. I know I can't just force myself to eat more, so I'll work with what I can eat and make sure it's good stuff I'm putting in my mouth!

HUGS to you! I have adrenal and thyroid issues as well as a progesterone imbalance (had it since puberty, hence the many miscarriages), so although I don't have PCOS, I do understand feeling totally out of balance at times, unable to lose inches/weight and being t-i-r-e-d!

Hopefully you'll get more input from those who have been there.

have you tried eft or z point for your grief? that might help out a bit. I have the opposite effect, when someone dies whos close to me, i lose weight, I just have to make a serious change.

anyways, yeah, I felt that way when I was pregnant with twins. I 2 bites, 2 sips and I was done. lol.

I hope things feels better soon.

    thanx for the help.
