Thread: Newbie--question and frustration

    Default Newbie--question and frustration

I am a newbie on day 5 and today has not been a good day. First, I barely made it through the PBS before I found myself very "sick" to my stomach and wasn't able to finish my workout, plus my left wrist is sore, tingly and swollen. Is it normal to experience nausea during the workout? Should I try to continue the workout or stop if it is causing me to throw up?
During the PBS, I can barely clasp my hands behind my back, and suspect this is the cause of today's wrist problems--is there any modification I can do to alleviate some of the stress on my wrist?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Angel

Welcome, Angel! The first time I did PBS I felt sick too. After that one time I wasn't bothered by it again. It could be the toxins that you are stirring up by opening up the lymph system. Not sure about that, just a theory. If you have the book, it shows an alternative on PBS using a towel. That definately could be causing the pain in your wrist. Hopefully a trainer will pop in and give you more details.

Hi Angel. I agree that you may be detoxing and that is why you feel so bad. I did feel nausea the first few times I did PBS. Now, I will have some indigestion after PBS if I have been eating a lot of junk. It is a wakeup call to me that I am slipping on my healthy eating. I have been Tapping pretty consistently since March.

Check the must read tips here at the forum if you don't have the book. I bet the towel modification is described on one of the posts there.

Welcome to T-Tapp. Keep consistent and you won't be sorry. This workout will do amazing things for your health and your shape!

I would call it good, take two days off, then go on with your consistency. I have done well on shorter bootcamps--usually better than the longer ones!
And I certainly agree you are probably detoxing.

DO use the towel. It is less invasive. I overdid it with the wrist--it's too easy to "wrist in" and hurt yourself. Realize that you actually inititate the move from your upper arms/shoulder area. Hopefully a trainer can explain that better! Just don't initiate the move with your elbows.

I still use the towel 95% of the time. I just have it handy and grab it for whatever workout I'm doing during the PBS part.

    HTH!

Angel, which workouts do you have? The towel modification is demonstrated on the MORE workout, and also on the Total Workout DVD (I think it's a separate segment after the instructionals, if I remember right... or maybe it's after the workout).

I just want to chime in and say that I pretty much detoxed for the first month that I was T-Tapping. That doesn't mean that I felt sick the whole time, but I was puffy, eliminating a lot, and had some nausea. I also had the continuous sense that I smelled funny for a few weeks. Just don't want you to think you're nuts!

However, I'm now in Month 2, and my skin is awesome, my joints don't get swollen and hurty like they did before, and my energy is consistently good. And no more nausea!

I ordered and received yesterday the Ladybug Workout. During lunch, I watched part of it and if I recall correctly Miss Teresa is using a towel during PBS.

1st T-Tapp, 10/27/2010; rather than inches, though that will be apparent, I am most interested in a reduction in clothing size, not to mention bra size since the darn things are hard to find a proper fit. !

Great results, Katie! That'll be an encouragement for others for sure.

Thanks everyone for the advice and encouragement! I am going to concentrate on the PBS using a towel and focusing on my form. It is good to know that others have had "side effects" to the workout, and that means it is working.
