    Default Wide feet

I've been Tapping for 5 days now but I've also been lurking around here reading old threads and getting form tips. I have one problem, my right foot is wider than my left. While doing normal things and even while doing exercise it doesn't bother me but with Tapping because the weight goes more on the side of the foot (I hope, if I'm doing it right) by the end of the work out the side of my right foot hurts but not the left.

I was experimenting today and noticed that when I do it with bare feet, big no-no I know, I get no pain at all but when I'm in my cross-trainers (Nike) I can feel the edge of the shoe pressing on the side of my foot. I also tried it with a pair of running shoes and the same thing happened.

After that epic explanation I have two questions, the first is am I doing it right that when I put knees out the weight on my feet shifts from the centre of the foot to being more on the side? My big toe is still touching the ground but bearing almost no weight. The second is I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for good shoes for wide feet.

    Thanks.

I can't answer most of your questions because I'm pretty new, too. But I can tell you that the Sketchers Sport that are frequently recommended here come in a wide width. I just bought a pair. . . a half size smaller than my original ones, I might add!

When you press your knees out and you feel the shift to the outer edge of the foot (which IS normal) press the Big Ball Joint down into the ground and lift the big toe in your shoe. See if this helps alleviate the pressure on the right foot.

Best shoes for wide feet and T-Tapping is Sketchers 2250

Wasn't there recently some new form tips involving keeping the feet closer together and doing T-Tapp in bare feet? I much prefer not wearing shoes as it is much easier to balance and to keep weight off the big toe.

Yes, I'm just not sure if it's for more advanced or beginners can do this also. I like to do BWO+ in bare feet & the tips give me a little more confidence about doing it that way. I wasn't sure if you could do the balance moves that well so I do have the Skechers 2250 in wide. Here's the link for those tips.

It seems the problem is the shoes after all. I did a rumage around and found an old pair of joggers I haven't worn for years and I just did the BWO+ in them. These are a more generous width and by the end I had a slight twinge on the edge of my right foot but nothing like the pain I was getting before.

I just had a look around online and found the Skechers are quite inexpensive so I'll just buy a pair to Tapp in. I really want to get fit and healthy and wouldn't want something as trivial as a pair of shoes to rob me of that. Until they get here I might just continue to do the BWO in bare feet.

finally just ordered the skecher 2250's in wide width and SO nice. Lots of room to press ball joint and keep that big toe up I paid a little extra for the "wide width" 2250 and so worth it. Hey there Oz... if you have a look here http://forum.t-tapp.com/showthread.php?t=67877 it seems pretty clear that barefoot t-tapping is not a good thing. Just food for thought - I'm certainly no expert

I know, barefoot is not ideal and I don't intend to do more than BWO like that. However after reading the thread somebody linked to in an earlier post I think I'll be alright for a few days. I paid particular attention to my ankles today while doing it and they feel fine, if I feel any pain or discomfort I promise to stop.

I did feel like I got more out my workout today than I have in the past couple of days. I think I wasn't pushing out my right knee properly because of the pain in the foot but I was able to today and I certainly felt the difference. Plus not having to think about whether something was going to hurt or not I was also better able to keep my mind on my form and in particular remember to keep my tummy tight.
