Another question about stevia......can it be used in between meals with the Mastering Leptin diet? As in, drinking tea sweetened with stevia. Does anyone know?

I'm not sure about this, but I just watched something that included a section about sweeteners and artificial sweeteners. I always thought that Stevia would be great because it's "natural", but it was included with the "bad" sweeteners. I believe what they said was that since it was processed, (in powder form) that it changed the chemical makeup, which produced glucose. I could have that wrong, but the point was that it wasn't as good as everyone thought. At least in the powdered form.

I first learned of Stevia through TTapp so I think it is fine to use - I believe it is mentioned in her book. BUT I do know that it does depend on the processing and manufacturer. The one I buy says organic stevia, as I have seen other brands called stevia, but are filled with starches and chemicals. So, not all brands are alike, and it could be that type the information was refering to.
