Default New tapper with hypothyroid needing tips

I have just started T-tapp. OIP and Hoe downs till I got my workouts. I have done two days of BWO instructional and I love how I feel. I haven't had energy like this in a very long time! It makes me want to t-tapp all day (sore muscles might curtail that-lol!). I am trying to take it slow because I don't want to over do and have my progress interrupted (when I have some). I do have a couple of questions. Did those of you who are on thyroid replacement find that your levels changed frequently with your progress? Does alfalfa interfere with the absorption of your thyroid meds? I started brushing yesterday but I didn't purchase the alfalfa because I was afraid that it might affect my levels. I have had a really rough time and long journey to get my thyroid levels to a point where I started to feel human again so I am trying to add a little at a time so I can see what works. I know we are all different but hearing others experience might help me to know what I might encounter. I love these forums btw! I have been reading and mostly lurking for the last few weeks. The posts are so informative and supportive!

    Hi Terry,

Congrats on starting T-tapp! It really is a terrific workout, and there are so many friendly, helpful people here! My questions always get answered well. The staff are really great too, so if you ever have any question that you need answered you can call them as well.
I'm hypothyroid with other medical issues, so I have not lowered my meds yet, but I do know with T-tapp and alfalfa, others have been able to lower theirs. Some will probably come on board if not today, next week. I've heard that on the weekends there aren't as many people on here, so you may want to bump this question up and a trainer could come by and give you support.

Incidentally, because you have thyroid issues, using the MORE workout could be a good idea for you down the road. It is for people with more to lose, more birthday candles on their cake or for those with health issues. I have just started it, and so far I am really enjoying it even more than BWO+. I like it because there are less reps, and right now that is a good thing. I am feeling so much more defintion in my body too.

Did you know that this Tuesday is Deep Discount Tuesday? Once a month (the third Tuesday always) Teresa offers items from the store at a discount. You never know what she will do, and some of the discounts have been phenomenal! Check the website on Tuesday if you are interested.

Again, welcome to T-tapp and I'm sure that your questioned will be answered soon.

I know one lady (cbuffy) has been able to reduce her thyroid! It can only help...I'm taking 12 alfalfa daily, and haven't needed to tweak my thyroid yet. Probably depends on your body!

Hi Terry--I've got the dreaded Hashimoto's hypothyroidism too. My meds have not been lowered, but I definitely feel better tapping!

    Welcome,

    Victoria

Definitely add alfalfa!!! But only Teresa's. I started with stuff I bought at the health food store and didn't see anything. Then one of the Deep Discount Tuesdays had an awesome deal including alfalfa so I got it. Within 3 days I knew my thyroid was wacked. Went to the doc for a blood test and sure enough, she lowered my synthroid! The following month we lowered it again.

Since Tappy Holidays (a challenge we did in December) I overtrained and really lost momentum. Then I got really sick (flu, cold after cold after cold) for 6 weeks and am just now getting better. I'm still taking 10 alfalfa daily, but although my thyroid is holding steady, I'm not ready to lower again (like I was hoping to). It is DEFINITELY a combination of tapping AND the alfalfa.

Good luck on your journey - and be sure to hang out at the forums lots - you'll get so much support and guidance! A nicer group of folks you'll likely never meet.
