HCG Diet
Has anyone tried the HCG diet in combination with TTAP? I was just wondering.

There was a thread on this not too long ago but I cannot find it in the search. Possibly deleted.
Here is a link with some of the possible cautions.

To me, injecting hormones which are not natural to my body is not worth it. If nature does not put it there, I'm not going to add it.

Thanks for finding this!! I hope you are doing great!!

Hmmn. Seems like this would be dangerous, as the body needs fats for various bodily functions, to cushion vital organs, etc., right? I've never heard of this ... and want to read up on it. It just seems like another way to lose weight short-term but not address the long-term, and VLC diets are of concern. I guess you supplement to get nutrients you aren't getting from food while doing this?
Stick to the fight when you are hardest hit. It's when things seem worse that you musn't quit.

I met with a lady today who sells the HCG diet stuff. We discussed this and I will report her findings.
She has over 2000 people who have done this - some for weight loss others for depression. The weight loss people MUST stick to the diet exactly or you will binge and GAIN WEIGHT. (My input: Of course sustaining the weight loss is only going to happen if you sustain reduced calories or increase calorie burning to offset the consumption.)
Women who have ever been pregnant can experience "mild" hair loss as the hormones 'revert' back to where they were before pregnancy. (Me: Okay, this seems a little backward from what nature intended.)
She explained this product impacts the Hypothalmus (the master gland in the body) and basically tricks it. (Me: I would prefer to heal the Hypothalmus so it works properly on its own than risk potential 'exhaustion' as can happen with the adrenals and other glands.)
For the depression people they do the shot every 3 days so the weight thing is not an issue. Apparently people are getting good results with this. (Me: I would imagine if people fed their adrenal, pituitary and other glands, the euphoria might be the same.)
THEN this afternoon I spoke with another women who attended a clinic on the HCG. Her mother did this and lost weight but continues to eat lots of salads, vegies & basically a clean diet. Everyone else she knows who did this gained all the weight they lost and more because they returned to their original way of eating.
All this said - my original opintion stays the same FOR ME.
Here is a PDF of Dr Simeon's book "Pounds and Inches" "HCG Weight Loss Cure Guide". http://www.thehcgdiet.com/pdf/pounds...-w-simeons.pdf
If anyone decides to do this, I am interested to see your results - good or bad.

Hi Joan, thanks for all the info. Could you explain something for me? Are you saying that you can 'burnout' the hypothalamus just like the adrenals, or that it does run the risk of burning out the adrenals?
I also thought I read somewhere that it actually resets or heals the hypothalamus?? Does it trick it or reset it? And what does it trick it into?
Thanks for your help.

To my understanding, you are injecting an unnatural hormone (unnatural to anyone who is not pregnant, that is) and this would get the hypothalmus to do something it ordinarily would not do. The 'need' for this intervention would imply the hypothalmus is not functioning correctly. If that is true, my take is to give it the nutrients it needs to function properly instead of artifically stimulating it.
If, on the other hand, this injection is forcing the hypothalmus to function in a way that is not normal under any conditions (other than pregnancy), it could lead to over exertion and potential damage. Of course, that is ONLY MY OPINION and I am sure people who have jumped for the "magic pill" (or injection in this case) will argue the point. The people I personally know who are using HCG are still on the program and have not resumed 'life without HCG' so I have not seen if they will be able to maintain the weight loss. I hope so for their sakes. The yo-yo effect is not healthy for anyone! One family concerns me the most. Prior to HCG they NEVER ate anything that did not come from the drive thru or a box....
I am going to start a regimen for my Adrenals, Thyroid, Master Gland (Hypothalmus & Pituitary), and a Female blend to balance the hormones next week. An associate of mine uses this to lose weight and even lost more than she gained from her last pregnancy. I'll post how it goes! I have hit a block and I know there is something out of balance - I have nothing to lose (well, except the weight) and the herbal formulas are food so it will not be a problem!

Joan, thank you. I would be interested in what you are going to be starting as I have severe adrenal/pituitary problems. I am seeing a great doctor, but am always looking for ways to strengthen those glands. I eat extremely clean and take some really good supplements, but please do share if you are willing too. You could always email me if you want, instead of posting.
Thanks

Well if you havent tried it maybe you should so that you can make an educated opinion about it. My mom has lost 40 lbs and despite having very low temps and adrenal issues she still has kept it most of it off and she eats anything she wants. My mom is not really the time to stay strict with food, she eats for what tastes good. I did it and have lost 20lbs. Anyway, i just think you shouldnt call something dangerous if you have never researched or read the protocol. Pregnant women have thousands of IUs in their bloodstream per day of HCG, and the protocol only uses 125ius. I have read and researched a ton of articles and other people's experience as well as reading about the doctors who use this in their practices. My chiropractor and her husband lost over 150lbs together and that was a year and a half ago and they still look great and used it to give them a start to a new life. They now are heavily involved in krav maga (israeli street fighting) and she uses they protocol in her practice to help people. I've just seen so many people positively effected by this, including one of my friends who lost a lot of weight that it makes me feel sad that people who have not experienced it are scaring others away. Do the research for yourself, dont let anyone else make up your mind for you. Anyway thats all. Oh and by the way the homeopathic version also works very well and it only has trace elements of HCG in it.
