Rachelle, truly, I have to say, it's not what you just posted, although, ironically enough, it is natural for a Type 4 to feel that way. For those of you new to this thread and who've not read it through, Dressing Your Truth (DYT) and Energy Profiling is about understanding how you as an INDIVIDUAL naturally move through life so you can accept your dominant qualities as a positive and not a negative. It is not at all being told who/what/where/when, etc....I think this is where a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing as far as misunderstandings go and creating confusion and/or defensiveness.

This is why Carol warns so heavily against thinking watching a video or two means you understand what the program is about, because you won't. The videos are to let people SEE examples of what they have already learned through taking the classes about what looks the best on their energy profile and how to work it into their own experience. A lot of people need to see these examples to get it and I do think it's great Carol makes these available.

I do agree that in this economy it is a lot of money to look at spending. I do think, though, that as individuals we are WORTH it if we can do it and working on limiting beliefs would be a good thing and EFT comes in very handy here. We create for ourselves what we think we deserve.

No one is trying to coerce anyone into having to do the DYT and energy profiling so I hope you don't feel that's why I started this thread.

I do see it has resonated with many; over 2000 hits, wow!

If anyone can respond to my request for help on the previous page (I don't want it to get lost on a new page) I'd appreciate the support. Thanks.

Oh, and I do think you are a Type 4 as it's typical of Type 4's to say 'you cannot classify me' and to think that this type of thing is a waste of time. It's so interesting how within our energy we are so normal. It's cool how you know who you are as far as energy and movement goes. I'd encourage you to do the color draping at the fabric store and see how stunning you look in bold, saturated and undiluted colors with stillness (not much movement). You'll look amazing, I know.

    Pamela,
I saw your request for help but I've only just ordered the book yesterday and did the online profiling course to determine my type. I don't think she would consider that as 'supporting' her as yet. I want to read/listen to the book...and even possibly do the picture profile for $30 to confirm my type before purchasing the online course. After that I will help you in any way I can. I am thrilled you started this thread. It's been quite interesting for me. I also downloaded the EFT Manual to read while I'm on vacation. So much to learn!!!! LOVE IT.

Lucy...from just watching the online profiling course where I felt the most comfortable was Type 2. It feels like my real personality...but I also relate to a lot of Type 3 too, so I honestly won't be surprised if I end up being a Type 3. But when Carol kept saying, does this feel like you? I could only really answer yes to that as a Type 2. The Type 3 in me I think comes out when I'm required (i.e., at work or when I was dealing with elder care issues for my parents before they passed away) to be forceful, etc. I can do it when I have to, but it's not comfortable. I will definitely keep everyone posted as I work through this.

Pamela, I did see your request, but like Phyllis, I don't have much of a leg to stand on since I've only gotten the book! But if I do end up buying the course, I'll certainly do what I can to promote what seems equitable.

Phyllis, so glad to see the EFT has caught your eye! It's a wonderful tool. It was posts about EFT by Pamela and others that I saw last spring that led to me jumping in head first and really transforming my life this year. Thanks Pamela!

I ordered the special 39$ deal and watched the videos last night and I really have no idea but I'm leaning toward type 4. But I also see 2 (pile maker) and 3 (compartmental thinker) in me and my physical profile seems to be a mix of 1 and 4. Physically I'm not a 3 in any way. Nothing else about me speaks of 1, I would be the last person on earth you would call bouncy.
Now this is what makes me lean toward 4 - I look great in black and heavily saturated purples and reds. My best photos are in black shirts with purple and red right behind. I never wear white because it gets dirty too easily.
Oh-and what is the deal with the ugly accessories in her store? They are so big and weird. (I should say the only accessory I wear is my wedding ring. I find them too fussy for me)
I'm going to wait and read the book, have DH look at it and see.I'm not shelling out any more money.

Pamela, when I purchase the DYT course I'll be happy to help too because I think you have very valid points! I don't see what the difference could be as far as having done it in person versus online. I'm like Phyllis in that she probably wouldn't feel like I've supported her yet! LOL

Rachelle I can absolutely see where you are coming from. This just came at a perfect time for me since I was already coming to some terms with things in my life. I had been feeling like I may have lost myself along the way and because of fear was just continuing to accept things the way they are. So for me, this just fell into place as another step in my journey.

Pamela I so agree with you about Carol warning against watching a vid or coming to a class without knowing your energy type because that is so true, you won't understand it. In fact I feel completely different from my earlier posting about being offended when she started that class by basically calling people cheap if they were there intending to learn their type at that DYT night. I absolutely see how it could confuse people.

Denise as far as what happened with me, I just assumed I was a 2, I'm 45 and had no problem classifying myself as a 2, I was fine with it BUT now that you've said it, yes, the thought did come to mind of "how boring" but I was okay with that, it really didn't bother me and I only remembered it now when you brought it up. I was also feeling a little like type 2 clothes were very plain to me. Don't know if that means anything or not! LOL

This whole DYT and energy profiling is just very interesting to me and anything that can help me look at things, ideas, thoughts or habits differently is wonderful in my book. This course is certainly NOT my only avenue of self discovery but I'm very appreciative that this thread was started (thank you Pamela ). I'm also thankful for all the wonderful women that choose to share their experiences and insight. You never know how sharing something you've been through can impact another person.

    Default the 4 types

I've read through this topic and get the feeling that no one wants to be a type2. Are the types really presented in a manner that makes one look better than another?

I don't mind being a Type 2 at all. I really see myself that way. We'll see if Carol Tuttle agrees

I think it's just that so many on this thread thought that at first they were type 2, so it's come up a lot, and I've been trying to pick apart the details of how people feel drawn to one thing or another.

I've only read the book, but I don't think there is any "favoritism" for one type or another. They each have their own strengths. If there is more negativity around the type 2, I would guess that it's because our society generally rewards/encourages dynamic, energetic people, who can go out there and make things happen. A "softer" type, like the 2, is in that situation likely to be dismissed as plodding and stuck in the details. Their strengths aren't as readily recognized. So you might say that societally there is a prejudice, but as far as the program goes (at least my limited experience with it), I don't think so.
