Hello! I have not read all 5600+ posts of this thread, but wanted to pop in to say hi. I heard about DYT a year or two ago on another forum. I figured out my type just from the info the ladies on that board shared. But the only part that I really retained was the colors for my type. I realized recently that while the clothes I have in those colors look good, they are still the wrong textures and cuts. I'm still dressing and wearing my hair like a type 2 (my secondary type) but only with type 4 colors.

So, I finally broke down and bought the course today at the discounted price (sorry, Pamela, I bought it through someone else I wanted to support) and am super excited to apply the other 4 elements to my wardrobe and not just the colors.

Just wanted to pop in and let you all know that we finally got a puppy! He's as cute as can be. He is a rat terrier/Jack Russel?/toy fox terrier mix, according to the ad on Freecycle. Yep! DH and I had been looking, but just couldn't swing the high adopption fees. He is always looking for stuff on Freecycle, so I asked him if they ever post puppies and he said they did. Well, 3 posts came up a couple of days ago. In this particular post, there were 3 male puppies left. We finally got pictures and they were all very cute, but I picked one that I thought was the cutest and DH agreed.

So, arrangements were made for DH to meet the people and pick up the puppy. Someone else was meeting them, too. They took the other two. Ironically, I had told DH to make sure he got the right one because the markings were very similar on two of the puppies. I am staying at the hospital with a friend who is dying (serving in a ministerial capacity as well as a friend) so DH had to go by himself. He did have my mom with him, but she didn't know what it was all about. He showed the lady the picture and she immediately went and got one of the puppies. He never questioned it.

He brought the puppy by the hospital, called me when he got here, and I went down to meet our newest family member. Wrong puppy! LOL I spotted it right away, checked the pictures and showed him, but he just couldn't really see the difference. Oh, well... the wrong puppy is now the right puppy! They had been calling him "Hoss" but that is going to change. We haven't decided on a name yet, though. DH has already taken some pictures. I'd post one from my iPad if I knew how, but haven't a clue! If I can figure out a way, I will, but thought Peggy, Kristine, and Pamela would especially like to know!!

Pamela, has your new family member made his appearance yet? Anxiously awaiting the news!

Steph, I am sorry I didn't welcome you when I posted yesterday or actually in the middle of the night Sunday night! Obviously, I haven't been "all here" the past few days. Anyway, Welcome! I'm glad you got your course. It makes such a difference. I tried to DYT for about 6-8 months without it (no funds with which to get it) and I can tell you that I have made great strides in finding my own unique style since I got the course. In fact, my friend's SIL said to me last night, "You have the cutest clothes!" But, it's not just the clothes... it's the accessories, too, and how you put it all together.

I couldn't figure out a way to post pics from my iPad, so here are a couple of pics of Bobo. We weren't sure about the name, but looks like it is going to stick. "Bobo" is actually his nickname. His full name is Boaz Bolerjack. I had told DH we could name him Boaz and call him Bo. He responded with it would be Boaz Bolerjack and we'd call him Bobo! I thought that was pretty cute and it seems to fit, so Boaz aka Bobo it is!

Btw, I don't know what happened to Max. I'm assuming he has been adopted out to a loving family, but we never heard anything more.

Oh, Betty, Bobo is adorable! And I love his "big" name... Boaz Bolerjack. So cute. I hope he's everything you have wanted in a puppy.

Bobo is very, very cute! We have a Bobo, too, at our house that we adopted last August. We got him from a very nice woman who works where my oldest son works.

When we had our Sibling class at the hospital, we met a beautiful little girl just born named Bailey. In town we saw the lady we got Bobo from and guess what? Bailey is HER little girl! What a cool, neat experience.

We have discovered over the last two weeks that it is for certain: our newborn son, who is 6 weeks old tomorrow, is a definite dominant Type 3! I’m so happy about this; to have someone who will tell me without hesitation the things they want to do and I don’t have to sprain my brain deciphering code so much! YIPPEE!

He has a lot of symmetry as well and we think his secondary is a 4. AS a 3/4 myself, this is so awesome.

He growls, purrs and chortles already and has been rolling over since 1 week of age. He can lift himself up on his arms since 1.5 weeks of age. At 2 weeks he began pulling things to himself and trying to communicate. He has amazed his doctor.

He loves to go to the park, etc., with big brother and travels so well. And he makes the noises to communicate and by the 3rd effort, he hollers to be heard if the first couple of indicators are not responded to and when he gets what he needs he is so contented.

This is so amazing, wonderful, joyous and just plain AWESOME!

Oh, and I draped him in my T3 scarves I use to nurse in public in summer as they breath, are perfect lengths, and are comfy and he looks amazing in them.

I've been taking the free DYT class online and it's quite interesting. Based on the videos, I think I lead with type 2 and am secondary in type 4. Is it normal to be more drawn to the clothing of your type? Because I've taken the 4 temperaments test and am melancholy which is type 4 but according to Carol's system I am a type 2. But when I saw the clothes for type 4, I was so turned off. I don't like bold colors! I don't like to stand out! Usually I wear pale pinks or florals, soft and flowing dresses or tops, comfortable clothes, etc. How is it possible that in the personality tests I've taken say I am a melancholy aka type 4 but with DYT I am a type 2?

I want to preface my next statement by saying I hope this does not come across as insulting or demeaning.. I was thinking, and several of the people that I know in my life that I don't feel comfortable around, are type 3s. My husband is a type 3 ironically and we are wired so differently!! I find type 3s to be pushy, value action/facts over feelings, intimidating, bossy and are too results oriented. (To be fair, my type 3 husband seems me as slow, too caught up in details, slow/reluctant or in fear to act, too passive, too sensitive, etc.) Is that normal that type 2s or type 4s (not sure which I am) don't get along with a certain type?

Last question!! I have a SIL and she has no filter on her mouth - if she thinks it, she says it no matter how abrasive or hurtful it might be. What of the four types has a tendency to do that? I was thinking type 1 but she is not bubbly, light, life of hte party, etc. She is quiet and only speaks when she has an opinion and you'd better watch out because whatever she thinks is a "fact", in her mind, and needs to be shared so we can know how wrong we are.

Also, I hope I didn't insult any type 3s by what I said. I know the adjectives I used were negative but I couldn't think of any words that would convey what I meant but didn't have a negative connotation.
