    Question Dowagers Hump?

    Dear T-Tappers,

Hi! I just started back body brushing this week after a long bug that set me back a little with my T-Tapp Workout, I am not giving up though! I was wondering if anyone has experienced their, "Dowagers Hump', completely gone by body brushing? I have had a huge dissapointment with having this in the past and have of curse been made fun of in HS from it. Sorry for babbling, just wondering if anyone else has experienced it to go away completely? When I did body brush I noticed it reduced and with KLT especially!

    Happy T-Tapping!

    Manda!

I don't know if I had an actual dowagers hump but very rounded on the upper shoulders/back and my mom has one that is very pronounced. I do skin brush daily but I think just t-tapp in general has eliminated mine, my posture is sooooo much better now and I've gained an entire inch in height. It doesn't hurt to stand up straight anymore!!

I had a hump that was just steadily getting worse. My youngest sister is telling all her friends that they HAVE to do T-Tapp because her sister (me) has totally changed her posture as a result of doing this WO. She told me (and my husband agreed) that they didn't think that I would EVER be able to get rid of it or to stand tall again. I'm curious to know what my height will end up being after all this!

Yesterday I watched T's Yes You Can seminar. She says that the dowager hump is fat that has accumulated because of inactivated muscles. Shoulder rolls and squeezing the shoulder blades together (activating the Lat Muscle) helps to get rid of that. I should post a picture of my "hump". And that day I actually thought I was standing upright with no hump! The picture tells a different story. It was taken in sometime between Jan and March of this year.

I don't know if what you are describing is the same thing or not. Just thought I'd share from my experience.

I'm sorry. The picture that I thought I had did not show my back. I had a picture and then a video. It's the video that has the "humped" back.

Hi, Jennifer! I believe it's the because when I feel it out, it feels like there's a fat pocket and then the bone, I know that sounds weird probably doesn't make sense but, I believe that's what it is. Thanks for the info! I try my best to shoulder roll as many times a day and believe once I get body brushing again I can get it down! Good luck with, T-Tapp! Many Blessings to you guys and thanks for the response!

    Hello!

I think I know what you're referring to. I have the same thing essentially. I think mine started in adolescence when I hit my growth spurt. I quickly grew from 5'6" to 5'9" and I was very uncomfortable with my height. I slouched a lot, and I think that is probably what caused my muscles to become weak.

I had been going to the chiropractor in hopes of eventually gaining some mobility. I could not roll my shoulders back, let alone hold them there. T-Tapp has helped a lot, and brushing has helped too. How do you brush? Do you follow the same techniques (T-Tapp stance, upward strokes)? I am just kind of figuring it out, so any help would be appreciated.

I hope I have been somewhat helpful! :-)

Hi! I actually have a link to a pic of my "hump", so you could get a better perspective of it. I hate it right now but, with the BWO+ and BodyBrushing also, taking Alfalfa and Fibertox has helped tremendously!

Hi Manda, my hump looks just like yours. It's actually a mild form of kyphosis -- it's the way our spine is curved, and then when we gain weight fat accumulates. When I lost a lot of weight and got to a size 8, it was still there. I'm also realllly hoping T-Tapp helps with it.

Amanda, You have slight forward head posture. Be certain to pull the ears back over the shoulders (Don't let your chin jut forward) during the day and during your workout, keeping the chin level with the ground. This will help activate the muscles in the back of your neck and get rid of that fat pocket.
