LADYBUG and Crab Claw Movements and pregnancy
I just had an email from a pregnant T-Tapper asking this question - and with the current challenge I want to clarify for all you mommies to be.
The Movements LadyBug and Crab Claws has to be done after OIP/HF (to be certain the whole pelvic floor is warmed up)...SO while pregnant do not do:
1. OIP
2. LadyBug Movement
3. Crab Claws

aww reeeaalllly? we can't just do HF and skip OIP? I love how LB helps balance the hormones. I'll volunteer to be a preggo T-Tapping Trainer to be a guinea pig..
??

Nope, we do not need volunteers to know this
Do hoedowns little mama

Ok just did CC yesterday and it's like a new instructional--you hear things you swear you've never heard before--and there she says it plainly that you HAVE to warm up with OIP to do LB and Crab Claws. lol. Thanks for explaining stuff to me, Mich
me & my stubborn self.. guess that's where Cady gets it--2 1/2 and already starting on the, "Cuz WHY Mommy?"
So, probably dumb question.. is HF ok without OIP?
-
What??? Greta... You have to hear it from T to believe it?!!
Can I say... "I told you so!!"

So, nothing in the Ladybug WO is OK when pregnant? I just bought that DVD a couple weeks ago but haven't tried it yet. I'm still learning the basics. But, I shouldn't do ANY of that DVD while still pregnant? I wish I could really learn the OIP well before delivery. I thought I read somewhere that it's OK to do as soon after delivery as I can (assuming no C-section). I'm no good at learning something without doing it. So, I guess I'll have to wait a few days until I can be awake enough to turn on the TV and watch it while doing it
Oh, and am I right in thinking that there are 2 ways to do OIP??? I thought I saw Teresa do them while lying down on something I watched. I also see that she does it while standing in the BWO. Is there a difference in these? Is one more beneficial than the other?
Thanks!

Christina -- You can do the Ladybug workout while pregnant (as long as you have been okayed to exercise by your healthcare provider, naturally), just not the specific Ladybug movement, which is near the end of the Ladybug Floor workout.
Yes, there is a standing and a floor version of OIP, as you have noticed. I don't know if one is more beneficial than the other, but I personally find I have better control over the movement and muscle contractions when I am doing the OIP version on the floor vs. standing. That's just me.
The lying down version is more involved than the standing, but the same idea is there... Lifting everything in the pelvic/lower abdomen area up up up! Which is why it's a pregnancy no-no!

Mich--:-P lol I heard you, I just didn't like it. lol
But the reasoning is reason enough, obviously, and I probably wouldn't have heard Ms. T say it on Critter Crunch had I not heard you the day before lol
Christina--you can do LadyBug. Just no Organs In Place (and you don't reaaally need to "practice" it, and kinda would be hard anyway with the baby in the way if it wasn't non-recommended) and no LadyBug movment which starts "and now we're ready for LadyBug..." and ends the same as it starts, right before the Rock and Rolls. And Runners' Stretch on LadyBug is um.. kinda not fun with the baby belly in the way.. lol

Ladies,
Thanks for the clarification that I can do part of the Labdybug workout. I just have about 10 weeks left until I'm due so I will probably just continue with the BWO+ and whatever I can get through of Instructional #2 until the little bambino comes along :-) After that, I can start in on some other things!
