Default Anyone have a Trucker for a husband?

My DH applied yesterday to be a truck driver with a company that sounds like it has a pretty good set-up. A guaranteed number of miles with a cent value, paid gas and we thinkg large maintenance on the truck. We would just pay a lease on the truck. Benefits, etc.

I don't know anyone who is a truck driver, or whose husband is a truck driver, so I thought I'd ask the T-Tapp forums!

Anyone out there who has personal experience with this? Is my husband going to be gone all the time? Right now he works nights so we already have a slightly different lifestyle than most people.

    Any advise/experiences would be helpful!!!

My DH is a truck driver. He owns his own truck/trailer but is leased on to a local company. Feel free to send me a message through the forums. My DH has been doing it for 10 years now.

If he's got his CDL, (doubles and triples depending on your state) tell him to apply for seasonal work with UPS for tractor trailer driver. He'll work the season and then get laid off for Christmas, but if he's good they may call him back for permanent work. He'll be home everyday. Work is mostly nights but weekends off. Then he doesn't have to worry about the lease. The lease can be very expensive.

My husband was an OTR driver for many years.
