I read on here that people spray it on their toothbrush and use baking soda. I just started doing in on my teeth and I see the plaque on the backside is gone; I had none on the front...and they're whiter...that was a real surprise. I use it straight on my teeth and brush. For freshness, then I brush regular. My skin feels like it's polished smooth. My hair is a lot more manageable. This is all within a weeks use? Wow...I'm impressed. I hadn't realized the benefits I've derived so quickly!

I use Tooth Soap, so I stick a bit of that in my mouth, wet the toothbrush, put on a few drops of mag oil and brush away. Then I rinse with water followed by mouthwash. Neither the tooth soap nor the mag oil leave me with that "fresh, minty feeling", lol.

I do think it makes a difference, and I rarely say that about anything!

I use MO with a couple drops of peppermint oil on my toothbrush. I don't use toothpaste because of the chemicals in it and the MO is doing such an awesome job for me. My teeth are healing and my gums are firm and pink. I don't have a problem w/ tartar either. I use baking soda only occasionally. Maybe once a week because I'm a big tea drinker. Tooth soap and the MO sounds like a winning combination also.

Wow, it never ocurred to me to use the Mag oil on my teeth, but it makes sense. I've also been reluctant to mix it in my shampoo as I have color-treated hair. But I do mix the Mag oil in with my body wash ( I HATE baths) and it feels marvelous. I apply the Mag gel after my shower but have not been brave enough to try it on my face. After reading about those of you who do, I think I will try it. Thanks!

One more thing. When you do a Magnesium Oil foot soak, do you use 100% oil or some kind of mixture?

Some use 4 oz mixed with water in a foot soak. I spray it on directly and rub it in at night after bathing because of time. I will tell you, the dead skin just rolls off with pressure from a pumice sponge while bathing. That was exciting to see, especially since it didn't look like my skin was built up...Now, however, my feet a very dry but in reading about this, I know soon that I will be left with nice new skin on my feet and no dry flaky feet! Oh, and I read that some use it straight with not water for a foot soak until it gets dirty then they throw it out.

I just have to write about my experience with Mag oil and migraine. Last Wednesday I had a migraine that Excedrin wouldn't touch, and I had hours before DH would be home to take over with the kiddos. I remembered someone in this thread posting about rubbing the oil on the temples for headaches. Well, I tried it, and within 10 seconds it seriously took the edge off the migraine. It wasn't gone by a long shot, but I could actually function enough to take care of the kids without too much discomfort. I am making a mental note to always use the Mag oil at the onset of any future migraine. Thanks so much everyone, I would never have known about this had I not come across this fabulous site!

    Default Mag Oil Deodorant

Yes! Mag Oil is a fabulous deodorant! I accidentally found this out. I was reading that if you put MO on your pulse points, it enters your system easier if you can't take a full bath, just shower. Well, I put the MO on under my arms, not sure if this is a pulse point, but forgot the deodorant. I found out it really is a replacement. I am hereby virtually free of all chemicals (except chlorine) since leaving out deodorant and replacing it with MO!

Vicki - Some people use the MO full strength for about a month then discard the liquid and start over. Most, however, use 2-4 ounces with only enough water to cover the tops of the toes. Soak 15-30 minutes, towel dry or rinse then towel dry your feet. Discard the liquid and start with fresh the next day. Because the MO has some detoxification properties the full strength liquid can get nasty looking by the end of the month!!

Soaking for 6 days, resting on the 7th day, and resuming for 3-4 weeks is generally enough to restore levels in most people. Then soaking 2-3 times per week is typically sufficient to maintain those levels.

Different ways to get Magnesium into your system besides foot soaks. I have put the MO or MG on before a shower - let it try then shower as usual. I have also put the MG on after the shower, while still damp air dry / pat dry. Spray or apply to the skin directly. Let dry and rinse if needed. Once the MO or MG is dry, the Magnesium is fully absorbed and the salt residue may be rinsed off with no impact to the Magnesium.

Deodorant - DH uses this with no problem. It fails me!
Hair - DH uses the MO on his hair and it stays in place without looking nasty all day. (I have zero tolerance for nasty looking hair on my dh!)
Teeth - I brush my teeth w/ MO straight. Nothing else.
Foot spray - every morning DH & I spray the bottom of our feet before putting on our socks.
Tub soak- the Magnesium Bath crystals are the concentrated form of the MO and cheaper to use than the MO in the bathtub. Fibromyalgia patients are reporting great results with this.

If you are limited on time and exposure remember the main areas to apply the MO or MG: First the bottoms of the feet and toes. Second the hands and fingers. Third the ears (everything outside the head). These areas are where the nerves start or end and ANYTHING applied here will travel through the body. Use caution with what you put ON your skin and it will be absorbed IN the body. If you cannot eat the product safely, do not apply it to your skin.

This is from Dr. Brownstein's blog. It's about MAGNESIUM PREVENTING DIABETES...OF COURSE, AS AN MD, HE DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT MAG OIL EVIDENTLY BUT INTERESTING ANYWAY:

    The Importance of Magnesium
Have you had your magnesium levels checked? Magnesium is a very important mineral that is used in over 300 different biochemical reactions. Unfortunately, magnesium levels have significantly declined in recent years. The best food sources of magnesium include green vegetables, legumes, nuts and seeds as well as unrefined grains. Eating a diet largely consisting of refined foods will ensure magnesium deficiency.

My clinical experience has clearly shown that magnesium deficiency is occurring at epidemic rates. Over half of new patients that I see are magnesium deficient on rbc magnesium testing (red blood cell testing). Serum magnesium tests are worthless.

A recent study showed low blood levels of magnesium had a 25% increased risk of stroke. The researchers studied over 14,000 subjects for nearly 15 years. The rate of stroke was highest among the subjects with diabetes and hypertension. What is a direct cause of diabetes and hypertension? You guessed it, low levels of magnesium.

What can you do? Number one, eliminate refined foods from your diet. You should eat unrefined foods with their full complement of minerals. I also think it is important to use a good multivitamin/mineral product since the mineral content of our food supply has declined over the last 20 years. Due to the poor quality of our food, I am not sure that it is possible to get adequate amounts of minerals and vitamins from eating a healthy diet. I think it is wise to supplement with a quality vitamin/mineral product.

It is best to work with a health care professional knowledgeable about nutrition. He/she can check your levels and provide the appropriate guidance on how best to achieve your optimum health. Ensuring adequate magnesium levels is a big step to helping you achieve that goal.

How much magnesium should you take? Generally 100-400mg/day of magnesium is adequate. MG-200 from Optimox or MG-zyme from Biotics Research are two good companies selling excellent magnesium products.
