Well, this is where you'll probably have to make a personal judgement call. I use Manitoba Harvest Hemp Protein Powder. Here's the ingredient "list": 100% Raw, cold milled Hemp Protein Powder. Contains no Additives or preservatives.

In another place on the canister, it says it, "...is cold milled from live viable hemp seed. All Manitoba Harvest hemp seed is grown sustainably; no herbicides or pesticides are sprayed on the crop. No Hexane or chemicals are used in the processing." Also, it "...is a whole food protein powder. It is rich in complete protein, branch chain amino acids, Omega 6 & Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) and healthy dietary fibre. Gluten free."

    Whew! Hope that helps!

The price is pretty good, too, especially when to compared to the quality whey powders.

I originally bought it from Azure Standard (www.azurestandard.com), in fact that's how I found out about it! They always have really cool stuff and I think there was a write-up on it in their sale booklet when they first started carrying it. It's $14.99 through them right now, regular price, although their sales are really good, plus UPS shipping if you're not in the west, on one of their delivery routes. (I SO miss being on their delivery route!)

A couple weeks ago, I had my local HFS check to see if they could get it for me, and since they're a "discount" HFS, I can get it for less than $12/canister, no shipping.

Oh, another thing I like about this is that there is no flavoring or sweetener or anything else. Just the hemp seed, so you can put it in ANYTHING without changing flavor. (Changes COLOR, but not flavor!)

Tried it like it. I had my HFS order it for me with no problem. They had trial packets. My DS tolerated it well also.

    Thanks,
