Default DMAE cream and Alpha Lipoic Acid questions

I just recently finished a series of 12 glycolic acid facial peels. They seem to have gotten my adult acne under control but did very little for my melasma and wrinkles. The derm's office where I had them done sells Skinceuticals and the skin care specialist recommended some of their products. I also checked out some of Dr. Perricones books from the library and read about his research regarding dmae creams and alpha lipoic acid. When I went to his website I found that these products were pretty pricey as was the skinceuticals line. I am pretty well broke for the time being after paying for the peels [:0] but I did find some off brands of these creams on the vitacost website - does anyone here have any input on these items? Also - suggestions on a good all-around moisturizer and sunscreen would be appreciated!

I've started using Copper Peptides from Skin Biology and like them so far--although i guess a lot of people have some reactions to them initially as they are quite strong and you have to build up your use very slowly. The websites for Skin Biology are very confusing but quite informative if you can wade through the information. They are quite affordable as well.

I have just begun using an off-brand alpha lipoic acid/dmae mix from Source Naturals. It's called Skin Eternal Serum and contains c-ester, dmae and alpha lipoic acid. It's very affordable -- got it on sale at Whole foods for about 12 dollars. I have very sensitive skin and rosacea and can't tolerate many products. After a week, I am pleased with overall improvement in skin texture and color. There are other products in this line -- an eye cream, nighttime moisturizer etc. But as I haven't tried them so I can't comment. Neutrogena makes very good daily moisturizers -- some are tinted and others have sunscreen in them. They have a very good one for sensitive skin. Also very affordable. Good luck. Lauren
