    Okay---

Long story short, I know the following:

9 months to put it on, 9 months to take it off
    It doesn't happen over night
measure the inches---any loss is a loss

That being said...I feel like an overweight bloated whale. I can fit into some size 12 capris I bought at wal-mart (yeah me at only 12 weeks pp).

But though they fit perfectly--I am having flashbacks to childhood/teenhood when I was 40 pounds lighter, but still felt like a pig.

I did my boot camp..I am doing a variant of EOD (I like the Instructionals better and 1 and 2 combined take too long)...so i've been doing 1 plus a jog and then on the next day 2 by itself.

I feel deflated--but only in spirt. My thighs are not budging..I just don't know what is wrong with that inner thigh!!!

Part of my dilemma--I was looking so forward to looking great for a wedding next week on my side of the family. They are the kind that notice a dimple or an extra ounce on your frame from a mile away. I don't want to be talked about--i want to look great!

I thought I was doing wonderfully and I just don't FEEL all that wonderful.

I'm not looking for a quick fix--but I was kind of hoping to not feel like I belong on a beach somewhere b/c i washed ashore.

    it is upsetting me tremendously.....

And for those who care to know...I have lost 17.5 inches. Yes i should celebrate....but don't feel that I look any different

I am probably most upset b/c my drumsticks really haven't budged except for their initial loss several weeks ago.

I had expected waist/abs/chest to deflate just as a natural progression from post partum life.

I am stuck in "glass is half empty" mode--how do I get out???

Hi! A big hug for you. Now...

I see you directing a lot of hurtful imagery and words toward your self image - whale, pig, drumsticks, etc. Can you find one thing you love about your body right this second and focus on it for a couple of minutes? I want you to post what it is, too!

My calves are the best feature.

Remember the old Special K commericals about not pinching an inch....

no fat on those calves....nice healthy and strong!

    Now that being said....

I just relooked at my chart..no loss on the hips or thighs in a month.

    Now tell me another one.

P.S. - it was only one minute before you went back to negative.

I'll take your calves. I don't like mine. But I am not trading anything!!! Bet you can find other parts that you wouldn't trade either. Problem is, we all want it yesterday.
Hope you begin to feel more positive soon. And keep on keeping on....you will get where you want to go.

I didn't have a baby, but I've got quite a bit to lose, and I too get discouraged about slow/no measurable progress.

I also have family that like to talk if they notice you looking plumper than you should, and it is soooo annoying, but I can't do anything about them, so I try really hard not to let it bother me. I'm sorry you have to go to a family wedding and not feel like you are looking your best, but I woudl think that they should also notice the progress you have made. Maybe you should wear an outfit that accentuates those great calves!

My hips/thighs are also a nightmare. Talk about thunder thighs! It appears this will be the last to go; I didn't have any loss in a one month span, either, so i know how frustrating it is, especially when all you see when you look down is that dimply, flabby inner thigh.

BUT, try to find the little things that are changing that aren't about the inches and appreciate those--I started a thread awhile go called something like the Little Things that make me Happy about the little progress I've been noticing that aren't showing up on the tape measure. I really need to notice the little things and focus on that to keep me motivated because I'm not always losing like I'd like.

Hang in there--we've all been there,
    Nicole

    Hugs to you, Marathoning Mommy!!!

Let's see....I am 8 months post partum, and if I wear certain jumpers, I am still asked when my baby is due!!!!

My dad used to be like that--when I was four months PREGNANT he made some snide remark...he's in a nursing home now, and when I was with him at the dr. last week, guess what he asked? "Are you pregnant?" And I was wearing a jumper I thought made me look thinner!!! But, he can't see well anyway!

Today I got a glimpse of me in my best "everyday" outfit, and I feel the lower half still looks big. But, compared to 6 months ago, my face, lower legs, and yes, even that stubborn belly DO look smaller!

I forget which pope said it, but I've taken it to heart about soooo many things in life:
"Be joyful, seek the best, and let the sparrows chirp."!!!!

There will always be "sparrows" chirping!!!! Don't let them rob you of feeling good about what you're doing for yourself!!! My thighs didn't respond right away, either. It's only been in the last few weeks (that after a 12 day bc and 4 weeks of EOD) that I've seen significant loss.

And realize that if your family is comparing a short torso or combo with a long torso....some people are never going to look like other people's idea of perfection. I figure if I'm pleasing dh and feeling good about what I'm doing for myself, who gives a hoot! (And believe me, I used to care a lot about what people think!!!!) Of course, I'm 45 and some lessons have been learned the hard way!

Chin up, sweetie, and be joyful in what you've accomplished, seek the best in yourself and let those sparrows chirp!!!! Sometimes, just being confident in who you are and what you're doing is enough to keep them from saying anything!

Love and hugs to you! [:X]

    Ladies,

I feel your pain - I truly do but sometimes WE can't SEE what we lose and others are sometimes just plain mean spirited - about whatever. Maybe THEY aren't working on improving themselves so they have to tear someone else down so that they aren't down on themselves for not doing anything about the way they look.

I also think that taking PHOTOS in addition to measurements is extremely important. During contests I've had people send me their 30 or 60 day stuff with a PS on there about how not to bother to look at it because they haven't lost or whatever. When I put the photos side by side and send them back to them to SEE (I usually DON'T send these back but maybe I should start doing that for everyone), they are ALWAYS amazed at the difference. Let's face it - I don't trust anyone's measurements of me unless they are a trainer doing it. I can screw up or my DH can or whatever - we don't do it all the time so sometimes that can even be a bit misleading - but PHOTO'S - those tell the true tale. But don't just look at TODAY'S photo - put them side by side with your previous ones and take a peek - I think it will cure you of the blues!!!!

Yep--some of my family is mean. nOTE: these are a select few aunts--though as their butts get bigger, they seem to be getting less snide about it as they age. (they finally realize they haven't room to talk IOW--and this is their observations...not mine!)

Now I got a funny--i think it would make Jeff Foxworthy proud of my husband....

telephone call with me and the sad voice....(paraphrased EXCEPT for one part--you'll know!)

    DH: What's the matter.

    Me: I'm fat

    DH: No you're not.

Me: Yes I am. I don't think the dress i got for the wedding will look right on me either.

DH: You have nothing to worry about--that area has always been your toughest area. You could be a size 2 before you'll trust that it looks better.

Me: My family is going to say something--I just know they will.

DH: They aren't going to notice your butt--if anything they'll notice your boobs.

Me (horrified that they'll find something else to talk about): You mean they'll think my chest is big.

DH: Well you know--they might ask since the baby only nurses one side and that side is bigger--if they notice anything it has got to be that.

    Me:[:0]

Jeff Foxworthy: You know you are a redneck.....
