Thinking about becoming a makeup artist
Many of you know that I have to take 15 months off from my nursing program.
I will be working full-time, but I am also thinking about taking an esthetic course because 1) it is only 6 months long 2) since I have had one year of nursing school and many pre-recs that deal with the skin, I don't think this class will be very hard for me. Plus, I LOVE applying makeup on people and giving them facials. I think I will love it and do well.3) And it will be the perfect job for me after I re-eneter the nursing program. 4)I will continue to work as one after I graduate on weekends (fun!) 5) Maybe I can open up a small shop and offer facials with Rhassoul, Deluvia and SSF products.
But, I am wondering how much you guys think that I can pull in doing this full-time? I live in an area with lot's of trendy spa's where facials range from 50 bux up to mid 100's. But I do not know how much the esthetician really sees. Any ballpark ideas?

Sounds like it'll be a great fit for you! I have no clue as far as the $$ - I would suggest maybe going & having a facial done on you & just talked to the person doing it -explain to them you're considering taking a class and you were curious how the pay scale worked, or if you're uncomfortable w/ that you could just go in and ask to speak to one of the mgrs and ask those questions. or maybe even just call.
just a thought! good luck!
