    Default June HD Challenge - Week 5-June 1-June 7

I copied this from DR.W's thread to get us started until she returns.

    Hi,

Welcome to June HD challenge Week Five, June 1,-June 7.
Hope everyone had a great week of HDs
    Any ah-ha moments??
    Any new health benefits discovered?
Just thrilled to have completed one week of doing HD daily??
Did you not complete the week?? That’s okay, each day is a new beginning, start over today!!!
    Share your thoughts with us
Back in 2004, Sherry did a daily HD challenge with a different focus every day… it takes me a little longer to make changes. I am using her format but introducing a new focus each week. All the posts with Sherry’s challenge and tips are in “Must Read Threads for Newbies & Veterans Alike” under HDs Thanks to Kirsten for compiling those for us.

First week: I hope that everyone read one post about HD or proper form for HD and just began to incorporate HDs into your daily routine

Second week: I hope everyone’s toes were forward and leg was straight from knee to ankle.

Third week: Keep your shoulders back and down. Resist the urge to lean (on basic HD). Sometimes when we (I) focus on one part of a move, like last week, on the lower body, the other aspects suffer. So this week focus on your upper body. When I first started I could not do the arm moves without disengaging my back and lats so I just kept my arms, out palms toward the ceiling, thumbs to the back . Hope this helps.

Fourth week: Bend your knee deeper and tuck harder, while doing all of the above!

Something to work for on the Fifth week:
Are you bringing your leg up towards your chest on the 1 and 2 count? Are you bringing the leg out to a 90 degree angle to your body on the 3 and 4 count? All the while, keeping feet forward, toes pointed, legs straight from knee to ankle, shoulders back, back and lats engaged, knees bent deeper, hands up and thumbs back toward the wall, KLT, KLT, KLT,(helps lose inches on inner thigh), tuck, tuck, tuck, harder! Yes we Can!

    Have a great week!!

Ladies, share your triumps with us. Inch loss? Body transformations? Weight loss? New clothing size?

Dr. W, So happy to see that you are fine and back in good shape! It was my pleasure to get this thread started for you in your absence. Hoe Downs and T tapp is very new to me. We need your wisdom and knowledge to move forward in the weeks ahead. Our hope is that you continue to lead us in this challenge.

New here. Been doing the More program for a couple of weeks now and just started checking in on the posts. Is the challenge just to do one set of hoe downs each day like it's done in the tapes, or is there more to it? Sounds like something that would be beneficial to me.
