    Default Any Chicago women here???

    Hi,

What is there to do in the Chicago loop (on a cold weekend) except visit the Sears Tower, eat/drink, get massages/facials and see sports?? We want to go sightseeing anywhere indoors!!!

We are both in our 20's. We are staying near Rush street (which I guees would be wonderful if we were into clubbing Lol).

    Also,
Any ood vegetarian (non-sushi) restaurants that we can hit?

Can any of you recommend a place (in the GolCoast area) for a nice facial?

What shopping centers are a must in that area?
    TIA

    Have fun in Chicago!

If you're here the weekend of April 15th, there is a T-Tapp workshop!

Don't forget to try the ethnic restaurants! There are some really neat little areas like China Town, German Town, and Greek restaurants (my favorite, o/c). The food in Chicago is soooooo good!

There are a lot of meatless Greek foods, too, if that helps.

Have a great time! Oiy, do I miss the food in Chicago......

Pam! That reminds me of the movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, when he says I'm a vegetarian and the mother says, Don't worry, we have lamb!

There are a lot of truly meatless recipes, Nice.

Only in the USA do Greeks eat so much meat; in Greece, it is mostly greens, grains and vegetables and meat once a week if they can afford it.

Here's some great veg restaurants, only a cab ride away.

    Raw vegan food:

And her cooked menu is wonderful too:

I also love the Chicago Dinner in Lakeview.

And Thai restaurants are great too. Here's one that is reasonable and not far from where you will be staying:

Also as far as sightseeing the Art Institute is amazing.

There's also great shopping on Michigan Avenue and Navy Pier.

The Ruby Room in Wicker Park would be awesome for a facial among other great services.

I live here so let me know if you need more help.

    Hello,

I am not in my twenties, so feel free to stop reading....

Go to Mojo Spa on Milwaukee Avenue in Bucktown.(Google it for the exact address. Vicinity of North Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue) Check out the products the owner makes. Bring money because she makes the BEST products for the skin that I have ever experienced and your money will buy A LOT of products. (My daughter who is in her twenties uses these products) Samples are available everwhere. The owner is Amanda. Her Dad helps out...his name is Dean. You will not regret this visit. It is a very eclectic spa.

While in Bucktown....visit the Red Hen Bakery (on Milwaukee around the corner from North Avenue) and get an everything bagel (or baquette)(sp?). THIS IS TRULY an EVERYTHING bagel. You may find yourself eating the outside of the bagel and foregoing the cream cheese (and the inside of the bagel). Treat yourself to the Cherry Tart.....sit outside (cold or not) while you enjoy these treats and watch a Chicago neighborhood in action. (The bank next door has a great ledge for "sitting".)

Breakfast at the Bongo Room will require a wait..well worth it so I am told.

If you have time, take a cab up Milwaukee Avenue to La Pena, in Portage Park (Irving Park and Milwaukee vicinty) and enjoy an evening meal of Equadorian food and music....stay late enough (or go late to begin with) and you can dance...this is another neighborhood of Chicago...and this eating establishment is fabulous. The Sangria is second to none.

After dinner at La Pena, you can go to Windsor Pub, also on Milwaukee, about a mile North (or a bit less..walk it if the weather is nice) and meet the locals (many young ones are there) over beer (or whatever) and darts...real darts...no plastic...maybe live music..maybe not....it's a neighborhood place...

You can stay downtown and have a great time also....Shaw's on Hubbard..great seafood with Andy's next door...great jazz....Rush Street is very close...Michigan Avenue a heartbeat away...

Staying indoors in Chicago is easy....you just have to be willing to travel to get there....There's Wrigleyville, Roscoe Village, Logan Square, Andersonville, Lincoln Square...and don't forget Hyde Park..South Side by the University of Chicago....Taylor Street has great restaurants and places to hang also....very local...

Start "googling" and see Chicago....oh!...check out what's going on in the near South Loop...that's a "new" hot spot.

Have a great time in Chicago......

I feel like a tourist agent! But I love my city...born in Chicago, live in Chicago, intend to "move on" while living in Chicago.

    Welcome.
