My blood type is O negative.
Every time I have been tested for allergies, I have tested allergic to wheat. Unlike other specific health problems I identified with other allergic foods, I never knew what wheat did to me ... until after I was diagnosed hypothyroid and I started reading books, T-Tapp forums, and other information on the www.
I'd like to bring to your attention, people with blood type O are supposed to avoid wheat. In my research, I have also learned wheat inhibits thyroid function (... as do cruciferous vegetables known as goitrogens. I have read the worst thing a hypothyroid person can eat is a peanut butter sandwich, because both wheat and peanuts are bad).
Looking through my copy of "Prescription for Natural Cures" by James F. Balch and Mark Stengler, I read on page 184 "... wheat is the product most often linked to depression."!!!
This makes me wonder how many people are taking antidepressants, or suffering and taking nothing, when they could get relief by simply eliminating wheat from the diet!!! Just think ... in our American diet, we can consume wheat at breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks!
If you are hypothyroid or think you might be, try reading the book published in 1976 by Broda Barnes ... Hypothyroidism: The Unsuspected Illness. When I read it a couple years ago, it was on some pages, like reading the story of my life!
This book gives numerous examples of how thyroid hormone levels are ... among many other health issues ... related to mental state. For instance, people in a mental hospital in Russia were given thyoid hormones, they got better and were released!
During periods of time when I have made an effort to eliminate wheat from my diet, I remember feeling more energetic. Of course I was, because my thyoid function was better when I was not eating wheat.
