    Default Hooping...what a workout!

Okay, I read the thread on hooping and ordered one off eBay for $15. It weighs 3 pounds. It came today, and after reading the tips that came with it, it only took me a few tries to really get it going. I had it up for just a few minutes, and holy Toledo--I was sweating! I think I'm going to keep doing this. I think I'm prego (too early to test but I'm pretty sure), so I'll try to focus on riding it around my hips instead of tummy (though the baby's probably plenty cushioned at this point). I'll ask my doc about continuing when I go in for my first appt. If I need to I'll switch to a hollow kids' hoop until after the baby.

But WOW! For anyone who was thinking about trying this, I'd recommend it! Pretty fun stuff!

Sweat may be gross, Sweat may be stinky... But I'd better keep Tappin' or I'll look like a Twinkie!!

    Just tuck it, okay?

It sounds fun! Are they easier to keep up then the kid ones. I have found that I just can't hardly keep them up.

Yeah...weighted ones are easier. I've never been very good at this but it just took me a few mintues to get it to stay up.

How long does it suggest you hoop for?
I think this would be good to get and get the kids their own, combine playing with the kids and working out as well.
First I want to buy the ladybug workout when funds are better than I might check into this.

How far along do you think you are?

They say 10 mins/day will take an inch off your waist in 2 weeks. Maybe not as good as T-Tapp, but variety is good. The 10 mins doesn't have to be all at once, especially at first.

And I think I'm only about 3 weeks. But all my typical symptoms are there.

    Mary,
The kiddie hoops tend to be smaller than the pro ones built for exercise, thus faster, that's the reason so many have a problem hooping. The larger the hoop the slower and easier it is to manage.

Boy Meredith I was ready to congratulate you on another one coming but then realized this was an old thread. Hey I am just wishing on you!.... only if you want.

Now I want to know what results and how well the hula hoop worked too. There is a difference in how a hula hoop is made for kids. The $ ones do not work. I would love to work that belly more.
