Default can t-tapp help a dropped bladder?

I just had my 6wk post partum visit and I asked the dr. if my bladder had dropped at all because it felt like it did. He said that it was dropped a bit but he wasn't worried about it.

I'm a bit more concerned than he is. I would like to do everything naturally to prevent future problems. Can OIP actually lift up the bladder? Are there any other exercises in t-tapp that help the bladder? I have very weak stomach muscles. Would concentrating on strenthening them help keep my bladder in place? Any suggestions for a healthy bladder would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Ann,

Yes the moves *organs in place* will help tighten and tone your muscles to lift your bladder, in fact the Basic T-Tapp stance we use for every standing move will help tighten and tone the stomach muscles which in turn will hold up the bladder. I would suggest you do OIP/HF every night before bedtime, and when you do the workout really concetrate on the basic stance
    • feet hip width apart
    • bend knee deep
    • tuck butt
    • shoulders in alignment over hips
    • press knees ot to little toe

Also on moves such as hoedowns when you lift your leg concentrate on tucking harder and pulling the belly button into the spine.

Keep us posted on your progress.

    Ann-

Welcome to T-Tapp! You should come over the Mommy Forum boards and join in with all of us moms over there working to get fit after having small and wonderous babies.

I just wanted to tell you that, yes, you can!! help "lift" the bladder with T-Tapp. I have personally experienced the amazing results of consistent OIP and T-Tapping can deliver. While T-Tapp wasn't able to help the particular type of birth canal prolapse I had (nothing but a skilled surgeon could have helped that!), it DID completely correct a prolapsed uterus and bladder--this means I didn't have to have a hysterectomy or any repair work done for my bladder, as well as NO urinary incontinence.

Here is a link to a post I made a while ago about some exercises you can do to help out that area http://forum.t-tapp.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=44226. Also, all of the butt-tucking you do during the workout helps to strengthen all those pelvic floor muscles that are key to supporting pelvic organs.

Let us know what works for you--

Wow Melynda, Thanks for the great information. I copied part 1 and 2 along with directions for the OIP and half frogs and printed them out. Your article was very interesting. I actually can feel the transverse muscle when I'm doing beg/rehab, especially during the balance sequence. I finally got the dvd out of the book and started with the OIP and half frogs last night. I will continue this each night in hopes that I get a strong belly for the 1st time in many years.

BTW, in the mommies forum, isn't the preggies thread just for pregnant women?
